I remember reading something about the "official host" but it wasn't your screen name. I thought you hosted this meet, Tony? You found the venue, brought the food, COOKED the food, and found a sponsor (BoostedImports.com) to bring FREE wax for everyone (except you, lol). Wonder who that (official host) was now that I mention it.
ORLY?
Quinn and I were the Official Hosts. Quinn found the venue. I started the threadz and answered any questions. Quinn and I organized the night meet. Told everyone where to go, and when to be there. Tony was VERY gracious to cook the meet for everyone. He didnt HAVE TO. he volunteered. and as for the $30 Tony spent on the meet, that was basically his donation to the meet. Tony, i told you i would go halfsies with ya on the meet, but after having to buy some of the grocery list, i didnt have any cash on me. Want me to paypal ya like $20?
and as for finding a sponsor.... did you really sponsor the event?? not exactly. we REALLY appreciate you coming out and spendin time with us all and Handing out the free wax. That was very nice of you to do. but if you had "sponsored" us.... then Tony wouldnt have had to buy the meat, or 4 of us wouldnt have had to buy a grocery list. Now, With that all being said, we really did appreciate you coming out. and we really did appreciate you giving us a FREE bottle of wax. Thanks again.
Now, Tony was a very large part of the meet and we all appreciate what he did for us all. We hope to see you again at another meet. and Next time someone else will cook. lol. (all ya had to do is ask if anyone wanted to cook or would cook so u could have a break. i didnt realize that you cooked the whole time)

I was just asking who the host was. Had no idea there was a "night" portion of the meet.
FYI - sponsorships come in all shapes and sizes. Everything from money paid for name on the event flyer, shirts, ads, booth space, annoucements, and event advertising (i.e. banners, gear, etc) to supporting the event by offering free products, demos, etc etc.
Example: You want to be a Title Sponsor at HIN or Night Session? Its going to cost anywhere from 5k-50k. Just want your name on the flyer and advertising rights at the event? You can donate car products for giveaways or pay for your spot (usually in the neighborhood of $150). And I promise it costs more than $150 to produce HIN at every city they tour. One sponsor doesn't pay for everything at most events. You can even ask your local little league team that...I promise they'll give you the same answer.
Now I didn't see any flyers, shirts, booth spaces, etc etc at the event (to warrant giving money for advertising)...but I gave out a good $250 worth of free wax. I've hosted Braggin' Rights Dyno Day and Drag Races here in Houston and sponsored a handful of events as well. Thought I had a good handle on sponsors seeing how I've been on both sides of the table, but I guess not.
Sponsor recognition is a big part of landing sponsors...so if you want anymore free stuff given away at YOUR event...I'd start there. I won't sponsor an event without it.
Tony went out of his way to get me to sponsor this event by bringing stuff everyone could use. I don't even own a maxima. But I thought it would be worth helping the Texas scene out and getting my forum name out to other makes and models.
To everyone else, had a good time. Don't think I will be sponsoring...oops...giving away free sh*t at the next one. Take care.
Touchy arent we? thought you said you were thick skinned?
this may be a miscommunication.. I took the "who is the "host" " comment as a shot at Quinn and I.
and also, dont get it twisted, Tony didnt have to do anything. he coulda sat back and chilled the whole time and no one would have minded. like i said before, he volunteered that. i know i cooked quite a few hot dogs for some folks and myself. I know for a fact, there are a few of us that would have had no problem cooking.
so lets set this straight. i wasnt meaning to take any shots at you or anything like that... i just felt that you were starting something with the "host" comment.
I have plenty, you can pick up one anytime you want.

I'm not sure who this Tony guy is but he was not the host. The host of this meet was me, I organized this just to let you guys know. My homie Nismo4Life posted it on this org. It was originally posted on the 6thgen site. It was a great turnout and I'm really happy you guys enjoyed it. By the way I was the one with the black 6thgen shirt that said DASILVERBULLET on the back.

LOL, one of the Host would be Nismo4life from Dtown, drove over 3 hours to get here. But Good props to fingerstink i loved his meat very delicious.
boosted thanks for bringing the wax. i appreciat it. cant wait for the next one

Touchy? My explanation seems touchy? I just posted an explanation of sponsorships seeing I have alot of experience in the subject.
I honestly thought tony hosted. There was a million pages in that thread and it started of as a feeler, so I skipped to the end. I didn't join the forum until Tony called and told me about the event and asked if I had anything to give away. He never said he was the host.
No one is butt hurt, no one is saying you weren't host. I just looked at everything he did and assumed he was. I read his directions, watched him cook, etc etc.
It doesn't even matter. I thought I was sponsoring the event, and it turns out I just gave away a bunch of sh*t. Tell me a company that would committ to something like that? Maxima.org? AEM? SFR? Certainly not. I'm glad I could help out the scene, but I cant afford to give away free stuff without getting my name out there. Its why companies sponsor events like this. Once you understand that, you won't have a problem getting sponsors. No one is trying to be disrespectful. Just trying to make you understand both sides.
i completely understand your side. and i understand that you didnt read the whole thread. and like i said before, we really appreciate the free wax. Thats very cool of you. did you even speak about your forum at the meet at all? all i saw was your shirt..

I mentioned BoostedImports.com as I handed out the wax. I could have brought banners and what not, but only brought the Z...not alot room for extras in there. Normally I bring the suburban to events as well....waaaay more room for booth, banner, etc.
Don't like to go overboard with drilling ppl with my forum either. Trying to get folks over there...not annoy them
Give us the dates of that meet at reliant, i live downtown and would be a super easy on to get to. If anyone wants to take some nice skyline pics of their cars with downtown as the back drop land are coming to boosted's show let me know. My apt bldg have great views
I would love to go to the relient show but i think im gonna set this one out and do some stuff to the maxima before i head back to houston , lol ! I felt so "naked" without any mods ,lmaoo ! Im pretty sure you guys know whats its feels like when you first get your car.

i might have to take you up on that offer. are you in midtown?
^doh! you figured it out! lol. Dates for the event TBD. Its Tunerlifestyletv.com's event btw...not mine. Mine was in August at Lonestar Motorsport Park and Turbochargers.com's facility off 290.

Thanks Rob for getting my back old friend. I know Rob is a balls to the walls type of guys. He would have wanted to do more but i asked him to bring just a little. He would have taken his suburban.

That's right I wasn't. You were I guess, but then I again, I don't know who you were either. I didn't know you had your own venue going on that night. what venue did you sponsor that night. Sorry, but I did not go. What venue are you the founder of?

Honestly I thought that this was the case. I wanted to pitch in for the meat too. I also bought/brought:
-charcoal (45 lb bag)
-2-12 packs
-3 packs of tortilla meat
-4 bags of ice
-2 packs of hotdogs that I never got to use (hamburger meat would have been too much bbqing)
-buns
-2 containers of pico
-forks/knives and spoons
-paper towels
-8 gallons of water for washing hands
-canopy
-grill
I didn't mention my raffle because i would have been in the hole. Been eating hotdogs for the last 2 days. lol
There's a lot of things that I did not mention like the extra food I bought or the raffle because my girl would have went ape sh*t with my spending habits. I kept a few things in the car. I was going to tell her that it was a from builtnboosted.

Only 2 people had nice camers to take nice pics and you were one of them. Don't see how you could have cooked and taken pics.
Don't worry about the cash... don't need it. Anything from what I contributed is courtesy and on behalf of www.boostedimports.com. Didnt know if you were aware but I had bought all the stuff you went to get when you went grocery shopping. I didnt know that that was what you guys went to get. You...see... i went shopping the night before and shopped intil 2am. I then woke up on meet day and went shopping before the meet. I only mentioned the money on food. I also bought a $100 gift card in case there were prize give aways. I didnt mention that because we ended up not doing any raffles. I'm just glad that I didn't buy the big bbq pit and rent out the pavilion and also because they were booked... i called. I was not the host and didnt know that there was one. I know that there were "organizers". I didnt want to be host and be responsible for giving away prizes and such. Being an old promoter, when i hear host..... i think different. i do realize that this was just a meet. If we want to meet to grow though.. i think next meet, the host should do a raffle for "best at meet". Raffle should get something like... $100 gift card + $100 dollars. Also, we should do something like a Best of show $500 give-away. I bet people will come. I will pitch in. Quinn... Nick, what do you think? Do yall want to do that?
To everyone....BIYM! LOL

Hey, this was a great meet and a lot of people made a lot of sacrifices and contributions.
About the organizers and sponsors, you guys should not look for titles really as if some people want to stand out. Hey, but if there is to be a title, think Nick should get something. I mean, it takes a lot for someone to drive from another city to attend a Max meeting in another city. Someone should try it and see what I mean. The great couple from Louisianna can testify. I can too, have driven to Dallas for a meet. When you do that trip of more than 6 hours roundtrip and think of all the expenses and sacrifice you just made, you know you really like your Max and hanging out with friends.
Special thanks to all who in one way or the other made sure the meet was a great success. I mean names like
Quinn; started thread, ran errands, got venue and lead vehicle to venue
Nismo4life07; started thread and driving solo all the way just for the meet after others bailed out for the trip. Took advantage of the trip to be with your sweetheart
ugafanz; for driving all the way with your wifey and pretty daughter. I hope that princess of yours got a lot of deserved rest when you guys got back. I think I zoomed past you guys when you guys left the meet. I was already doing like 80 on that strip.
fingerstick; you were the MVP of the meet!!! ...., cooking all that meat is no joke. It is a task!!! Thanks a million for catering for the whole group and not complaining a bit. What a big sign of selflessness.
BuiltnBoostedZ; Hey men, thanks a lot for sharing the wax. Thos ethings are expensive and I believe everyone is really appreciative of it. Hey, but I still need to send you my address. You said I could get a box of ....,??? What again? Or did I need to attend a show to get it. You said you had sooo many, don't know what to do with them.
The rest of us at the meet....., the company was great. Just hanging out, talking and making new friends. It was a really good meeting. I think everyone contributed one way or the other, especially just by showing up. Because we know a lot of people signed up, but could not make it for some reason. Did someone say people should be fined next time they signup and cancel? It was a joke, though.
Nick, you still got those nismo valve stem caps? If you still have them up for free, let me get them. One of mine just fell off and I need them just in case I loose any again.

I have a set you can have Emil. It says Nism, the red "O" faded off
Tony, i didnt realize you had bought all of that.... it really wasnt that crucial bud. That is very thoughtful of you to take care of everyone like that. I know i can speak for everyone when i say Thank you.
Emile, i appreciate it bro. very wise words. thank you. and as for the valve stem caps, i gave them to Tony already! sorry bro! you can get a new set on Ebay for like 10 bucks or so.
How about we just chalk this up as a successful meet? i mean, i had a great time, i hope everyone else did. we need to stop bickering about who paid more or who did what, and just start enjoying the time we all had together...

I never said that it was easy. Nick did take his time to drive out to Houston and organized this, yes. Believe me, I have done it for years.
BuiltnBoosted just sponsored an event in Florida, booked hotel rooms / airplane tickets and spent thousands of bucks prizes and trophies. The will travel anywhere in the US to promote. That's right, just to promote.
Do preciate Nick setting this up.
