For what it's worth, I'll be taking my car to Heartland Park tonight. I'll have my new pit bike there as well - a custom-built Trek 80cc motorized bicycle. Just because.....
Couldn't go to topeka and then wichita, got too many bills due now, but I do send my regards in the form of a Sterling Mist (that would be the color if it was a maxima, I dont know GM names) Camaro SS, he said he should be running high 12s, he has a billet grill and the showstopper (3 in the stink) on the back of his window. Goodluck man.
As for the rest of you guys, I better see you in wichita!!!

I didn't see the Camaro - it was a nasty track, hot and humid - a DA of 3300 ft. I made two slow passes that evening - both were in the 13.2 / 108-109 MPH area. The first pass I tried to use both nitrous stages and lost traction and hit the rev limiter in 1st and 2nd gears - the next time I used just the first stage and went faster. Best 60' was 1.986. I hate summer at the strip - at least this one. Test-n-Tune nites are slow and slippery. The last time I was here, they closed early because the track had "bald spots" = me losing traction and drifting in second gear. Even the tree was weird - the left lane was giving lots of red lights, and the right lane was slow the other way.
The event was well organized and managed - not too many monster cars showed, maybe 20 trailers in the upper pits, but numbers of street cars. At least my motorized bike was a fun way to get around.

They saw you run the 13.2s, kinda hard to miss a maxima running low 13s and w/ your cams...
My friend in the Camaro didn't do too well either, he either bogged his launches or spun out first, he was suppose to be in the 12's but didn't get anywhere near that.
But yah what happened guys? Good thing I had a kick *** back up plan, or else I wouldn't be too happy now...
I'm going to KC in August, so I will try to set up a meet up there.

Wait until I finish my next Cosworth-based 3.5 build - you won't miss that one!
Watcha got in mind for KC? The Legends area, next to Cabela's and Nebraska Furniture Mart, on the west side of KC at I-70 and I-435 would be a good place, with lots of parking and room for a meet-and-greet.
Legends: http://www.legendsshopping.com/
Anyone in KC area have a black passenger side fender and front bumper (w/fog openings) for a '97 SE. I'd want them to be in good condition. btw, need to get myself added to the Kansas list, Lenexa/Olathe area. Black on black '97 SE.
Bad news (well good for me) I wont be in Kansas till the 22nd, so someone else has to organize the meet for the 7th, I'm back in Houston with some good ol 93 octane .

I've been eye'n those G20s, not too bad of a car. I just wish they were a tad bit more roomier... What year is your G? Imma put you on the list there
The G35 is a 2004
The G20t is a 1999 5-speed
I have the newer body which is marginally bigger. I wasn't in the market, but this one was too good to pass. I ended up buying it for $2200, no body damage.
Harold I was hoping you were still coming to that event Now the bad news for me is I may have hurt my car yesterday night racing an 09 CTS-V.. I don't know the extent of the damage yet but I will look at it sometime soon and see what the deal is.. If it's not hurt then I will be in Tulsa running with you and if not well I will just be there haha.. I've already started looking at pistons, rods and rod bolts just in case.. But I will let you know.. I hope you still plan on coming......

As of right now, I'm still planning on making it. I have to get a hotel room nearby, drive there with the car and trailer on Friday and stay overnight to make the 10AM opening bell. If I leave Tulsa by 7PM I can get home by midnight. I'll probably still have the old motor in the car, unless I can get the valve lifter machine work done this week.
So what happened to your car? Did you win? Some of those Caddys are quick...

Ok thats good to hear.. You mean drive here Saturday and stay overnight, because the event is on Sunday the 20th.. I hope that doesn't throw you a curveball? I will probably drive up Saturday as well and stay overnight so lemme know if your still game and I can meet you somewhere in Tulsa, or we could possibly stay at the same hotel, just lemme know though.
Umm I'm not too sure yet, I will look at it when I get the chance, I don't drive it to much so it's really not that big of a deal.. It was making some weird noises on the way home but didnt do it yesterday morning when I put it up so I dunno.. I need to take the manifold off and check the plugs and then go from there. If it is something big, I already have my paws on another 3.5, and may go ahead and swipe the credit card on some Weisco, or CP Pistons with Eagle Rods and ARP Rod Bolts and kick this turbo build off sooner thasn planned haha, but we will see.
As for the race it was a DAMN good race!! Very close, but the top end on that thing was NO JOKE!! I think my car just said F it and gave up haha but it sure was fun

Yes - what you said. Saturday to travel - Sunday to race. I am calendar-challenged. I'll have to take Monday off work to unload everything. I'll probably bring my motorized bicycle along for a pit bike - just for fun.

OK - I'll be in touch when I have the final plan - PM . Or can we convince other Maximas to come and rock the Hondas ????

Sounds good, I still have your number from when I talked to you the other night. I will try and round up as many Nissans as I can around here to make the trip as well as play on the track.. There are always Hondas that do most of the damage, but there are other cars on the horizon like the new Cobalt SS's and there will be some 50-trim SRT4's there as well and they will def suprise you. But I'm sure you will turn LOTS of heads with the way your car runs Car or no car for me either way I will have fun!!
Hey guys. I don't read much and post even less.... Been real busy and am going to stay busy for a while. I would love to see y'all the 20th but my inlaws from Arizona will be up. Hope to get with you all at some point.

Juiced, I just made a two-day reservation at the Tulsa Best Western Airport hotel, on 222 N. Garnett Rd., which is a mile or so south of the Tulsa drag strip.

We had some fun there - I had traction and transmission issues, but i managed two 12.9sec/114+ ( ex: 114.51) mph passes, with one 1.887 60ft. I had to run with just the first 75-shot and occasionally spray the second 100-shot stage after I was into 2nd and then 3rd gears. The track would not hold spraying both stages in first gear - and the tranny got mad when trying to shift with both stages on. Sheesh...
I dug into the tranny today and found it was down almost 1/2 quart of Mobil1 ATF - no wonder it had trouble shifting. There was also about a cup of fresh tranny oil on top of the main housing. I don't know how it gets there - there might be a crack in the housing.
I drained some more oil and added a bottle of Lucas transmission fix-it stuff, used my new Moroso bottle heaters to warm up bottles, and went out driving tonight. Daymn, everything seems to be working again!

I can't believe there's a place in Topeka that can handle that beast.
On the lighter note, there weren't any negative effects from doing 4 runs on Saturday, except for killing the tires (they sucked anyways) and maybe my bank account... going to BP was expensive @ 2.85 a gallon (ouch), but I can't pass up 92, reminds me of the good ol 93 back home *tear*
It sure was fun beating that R34 in every aspect of the 1/4 except our trap times.... That's a diff story.
