to stance or not to stance? [KH3 fourth gen build thread]
I got this car a little more than 4 months ago. 99 KH3 SE, 5spd. blah blah. the weather's starting to break so I'm about to get into my build for the year.
i don't have pics from when i first got but until last week nothing really changed minus removing the spoiler and debadging the trunk.
Then the coilovers came in...
my little homie tyler who's about to get his permit and a white 4th gen.
more pics soon.

He means front crossmember, you bottom it out ya know? The Scccccccccccrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrruuuurrr rrraaaaapppe sound you hear when you go over odd angles.

Sheez that's a drop i wish I had. Personally I wouldn't slam it, that's low enough. By lowering it, it will be an inconvenience with bumps and all and you will do nothing but more damage to your suspension. Plus you will ruin your handling, gotta have that for the curves dude
I'd go with what Chrisman said

i know what he meant, i was trying to say "cros member?, screw the cross member, what about the axles?" lol

Lol it will be stanced. I just couldn't think of a name for the thread and that was the first thing I came up with lol. I've got a pretty dope concept I'm toying with in my head. 17 x 9.5's all around. But it will take me some time to save the money for the wheels. As far as how low the car is? I have about 2 inches of clearance between the crossmember and the ground it's retarded low right now. I'm rolling on two brand new NAPA axles so I'll let you guys know how they hold up. I need new tie rods and ball joints and a passenger side wheel bearing but the car surprising handles amazingly in comparison to stock setup and even with the D2's on full stiff, the ride isn't too bad.

I can't stand seeing the sunk wheels but I'm not raising it. It's just temporary lol. Mudflaps are staying. They're still trimming themselves down a little bit so once I stop hearing them scrape ever other turn, I'm gonna paint them and run a front lip so they'll make more sense visually. I have stillen sides and rears but I'm probably selling them.
Oh...and I have 225/45/17's in my basement waiting for 9.5 inch wheels but I'll more than likely end up running 225/40/17's.

yup. there's quite a few maxi's up there right now. i need to make another trip soon.
there isn't steering wheel vibration at all. it rides like butter. i do need a new wheel bearing but that was pre-drop. my tie rods and ball joints need replacing as well so I'm gonna overhaul the front end soon so i can have a better idea of how the drop is affecting things but i definitely enjoy driving it a lot more than riding stock and being this low is forcing me to do some maintenance that is needed anyway so i can't really complain. between me and friends i don't have to pay for labor and parts are cheap enough so I'm not too worried about that.
my biggest issue is rubbing. I have started to cut down the inner fender plastic, but i managed to rub through the wiring running from the fuse block in the engine (near the battery) to the inside of the car, so I have to tuck that in between the fender and the frame then it should be smooth sailing.
It's only been low for about a week so I'm still getting used to driving slammed. I've ripped a hole in my flex pipe lol.

Looks very nice but whatever you do don't get into that stupid camber bullsh1t and have the wheels sticking out at retarded angles. I hate that ****.
Very good start so far though. I'm in PA too. Tell your friend to take the Nismo sticker off his hood because it looks dumb.

if you don't like slammed cars, that's cool. i do so i could care less. this thread will not be of any interest to anyone who cares about suspension geometry and practicality. i don't plan on raising the car. I just can't wait to get these wheels, but i don't have 1200 for wheels right now.

being slammed with proper fitment = doing it right.
my ultimate goal is the latter, but it costs money and therefore will take time.

Damn that's low. I bottom out my cross member on a 2" drop all the time. I can't imagine being that low.
Looks boss though. Keep up the work. Also, do you have the M3 style spoiler? I'm considering picking one of those up.

yeah, go ahead and fit some 18's on there with the same ground clearance. Report back when you do.
