98 maxima......the beginning

So I about a month ago after having my license and the max for a year I decided it was time... I'm going to pour tons of money into this maxima to make it clean and run amazing. As of now I don't have anything to special done to it but I figured now would be the perfect time to start a build thread. One thing I would like to mention is that I want to build this car "right" only buying qualities items and not trying to save lots of money on cheapish parts (no offense at all to anyone who does that)

So here is the list of things I have done (will be updated regularly)
-D2 Coilovers (lowered 2 inches in the back and 3.5 in the front)
-Apexi WS2 Catback (3 inch tip)
-Clarion headunit (not pictured)
I would like any criticism positive or negative that anyone has to offer, thank you!

Pictures:

Can't tell if your being sarcastic or not but my max is low. Maybe not as low as everyone else but low enough to just barely fit in my driveway and by barely I mean I could prolly only fit two pieces of paper in between my car and my driveway. My driveway has about a 2 inch lip at the top. Also these pictures (well most) were taken laying down therefor it looks like it has a lot more wheel gap then it really does. I will take some at standing height next time.

I'll get those up soon, as for now I'll see if google street view has anything showing it. The drop off on the driveway though, I measured today is a little over two inches.

ya that doesnt look like much, but that is a few years ago before we recently got it paved. That lip is now higher and the driveway is more steeper.... Will take pictures from ground level sometime this week so you all understand where I am coming from.

What's your ground to fender height up front? I'm still trying to figure out why it sits so high. 28" is stock IIRC.

You made the car lower by raising the lower mount, right? I'm thinking maybe you just added preload (shortened the springs) so it didn't lower the car much.

I'll go lower eventually, anyways due to the storm my wheels and tires got delayed 2 weeks. I ended up picking them up today and putting them on. I went with 245/45/17's and they are PERFECT. With me being lowered 3 inches around they have a driveable amount of room but with not too much wheel gap at all. I will post up pictures probably tommorow for you guys. and thanks maxima feen.

sorry it took so long to get the picture up but here it is, also i measured my clearance today for those who are wondering and my cat has about 3ish inches of clearance (hangs a little low) and my lip has about 4-5 depending on where you measure from. Also I will have high quality pictures up once I can do a shoot. Right now your gonna have to deal with the ****ty cell phone pictures.

Coilovers are definately on my wishlist. But i figured if u went with coilovers was to dump the crap out of it. Hell, my S-Tech made my car lower than this for a fraction of the price. When it comes to the wheels, I wouldve went a different direction... To each its own, though.

Thanks, not trying to start a fight or anything but coilovers are not just for "dumping" a car it handles like it is on rails now which I want for auto cross. Also if your car in your sig is the one you are talking about you are definitly not lower than I am. Again not trying to start **** just saying...

Looks better but I would at least make the front as low as the back or raise the rear up some. Saggy *** is not a good look. Rims look decent.

ya It's not too bad, also having the ****ty quality picture isnt doing the car justice. I'll try and get out with my DSLR and take some good picture's when I'm not so busy. I'm gonna use the mothers headlight cleaner tonight actually on my headlights ill put a review thread in the 4th gen section if anyone is interested. Got it for 25 bucks at autozone.

You paid 25 for headlight cleaner? Ouch, could have just bought the mothers or turtle wax bottle for like $7 and woulda done the same thing. Your car looks clean, don't pay attention to the haters

Sheesh... member rides forum lurkers these days are just a bunch of axle chewing speed bump scrapers arguing about who's lower or who isn't low enough. Some people are more worried about function than how far they can tuck their stretched tires.

The car looks fine, good start on the mod list. A 3.5 with headers will be a huge upgrade in the power department

Wow, been a while since I posted on here, here is a little update/ official checklist I have for my car to be done by the end of summer.

Corbeau Forza racing seats
Warpspeed Y pipe
New passenger side finder
Black out turn signals
20% tint all around
Black interior swap (door panels, carpet, gonna delete the rear seat)
NRG steering wheel and quick release hub
Stillen lip kit and SLAMMING the car to the ground
light weight flywheel
SRI
00VI

I know this isnt everyones style to do this to their car but its mine so I hope you guys like it

I like the color, i like the drop, the rims are a decent choice for 4th gen. 5 spoke is never a bad choice, even chrome. i do not like the pinstripes though. in for interior pics
