I'd love to! I'm a bit suprised you choose the M5 to ask about as opposed to the M3's. It will be like comparing apples and oranges. So I'll do my best. Keep in mind that I rate my cars based on the thrill that I get from the drive. And that its IMO.

Sure the M5 had Navi, saddle interior, looks to kill, and a wicked growl. But when it came to driving it was numb compared to the S2K. The S2K is far lighter, more agile, has less body roll (even stock to stock) and sharper steering. All this made it much more responsive then the M5. It also allowed you to brake later and enter the cornors at higher speeds. The low torque, close gear ratio, and high RPMs allowed you to accelerate in the cornor and then blast out till 9k! The M5 fell short by comparison in all the above. If you havent guessed I really drive my cars! They see hard driving and track time .... well the ones that are worth it! The M5 broke something everytime it went out on the track and always had something failing in the controls (like on board computer, cluster pixs, ac, damn radio, sensors, etc etc). I have had the S2K from 32k to 81k miles all of which is HARD earned miles. I bought it to beat it! All I have done is maintance and both rear wheel bearings! Its just a great driving experience and makes it a pleasure to drive anytime. I will say this the M5 is an amazing car. It is the best sport/luxury/sedan I have ever driven. I can qualify that bc I work for Carmax Corporate and am given a demo (or company) car of my choice from any lot in the south east region and I can it change whenever I want. So I spend all my down time finding the next toy! If I like the car as I did the M5 I purchase it with my discount, mod it to my liking, and sell it when I've found something better or get a good offer on it. So I can say that the M5 is the car to get if you want a sport/luxury/sedan and your its in your budget. In fact I have a 08 heading my way as of Wed. But I cant afford to buy it even if I like it! BIG $$! ... back on track ... But if you are like me and seek cars that are raw, pure performance, blood pumpin, and feel like car and human unification then in my experience an S2K is a better car!

Hope that explains my statement.

Dont paint them!!!! I agree they look odd. I can see the look your goin for here "JDM tight" lol (as I duck the tomatoes .org members are throwing)! It would look good if the rim had a deep lug socket but when almost the whole lug is exposed it sticks out like Santas nose! I have a set of titanium Rays lugs ... well they are titanium color idk if they r really titanium ... with that price i hope so. I had them on my S2K before I got this new set of wheels and they looked great with the silverstone. If you want we can work a deal, maybe a trade or something. LMK.

Makes sense, that the S2K is more nimble, just definitely not as powerful. I guess that the S2K would better compare to an E36 or E46 M3 better too, I guess I was comparing a Maxima to the M5 (based on the forum, lol)

But thanks for the justification, I'm sure they're both awesome cars to have. Another car I'd like to see the M5 up against would be the B7 S4, as that's what I'd like to pick up in the near future.

You know, I actually like these little cars. Fairly quick and nimble and good on gas. I was trying to push my girl to get one, but she wants a Z instead because, and I quote,

"I can actually spin the tires on the Z, the honda feels weak."

This was after she test drove each back to back. (friends cars) I'm not posting that to bash the car because like I said, I like them, but I'd have to throw some go fast mods on that thing A.S.A.P. Dare I say... SR, RB, VQ? or el es juan? lol

Ready?

1) Those wheels and lugs are hideous
2) I wouldn't touch those tires with a ten foot pole, they are in all likelihood a downgrade from the S02s that came stock on AP1s
3) You boned the handling by lowering it
4) There's a good chance the intake lost you power
5) I do not believe you walk 35HRs.

If you are all for show then the mods are warranted I suppose, but that kind of defeats the purpose of the car. And no, Honda has never been the dark side, although the S2k is the closest to it Honda has gotten (excluding the NSX).

As for getting good gas mileage, 18mpg city in a light 2 liter NA car is horrendous. Mileage isn't the point of the car however, a nonstop ear-to-ear grin is closer to the mark.

- most are riced, as in like 4/5 of all Civics
- only non-FF cars they made i believe were the S2000 and NSX, but some of the newer Acura are FF or AWD
- most Hondas always get made fun of on non-Honda forums
- theres about a hundred more things lol. Hold On Not Done Accelerating
