Dads New 2007 Murano

My dad just leased this Murano last night off the showroom floor with 14 miles on it. Fully loaded with every option available including nav.

its good for snow and all but the 1.8T is kinda slow, plus the car is basically made for 2 people. It is not a fun car to travel in and with me going to college he wants something that is comfortable to drive across the state in but will still get him through the snow.

Nissan Family FTW!!! 3 Maximas and 1 Murano

Isn't leasing a waste of money, why not just make a payment a month and end up actually owning it??

Because by the time you pay off the ride, something new will be out. You'll prolly end up selling it anyway. On top of that, you'll start seeing problems here and there. Unless it's your daily beater which you put 100 miles on per day, leasing is the way to go.

When you lease you can find deals with no down payment, so you are basically just renting the car and never paying for it itself. Now if you decide that you want to keep the car at the end of the lease you just pay the rest of the money owed to the dealership. Plus with this deal on the Murano he gets 0% financing so we dont pay any interest.

+1 to above poster...

I loving this generation Murano more and more after I saw the new one coming out.

Leasing was invented to make money for delears; not for the benefit of the consumer.

That is what i meant.......just the words i was trying to stress........Unless u like to flush money down the drain every month.....plus if u feel u have to have a new car every year....then i guess keep leasing or should i say losing....

Not true at all, for someone who likes to always have a new car its the way to go. You can not only get no down payment deals, but all you pay for is the amount its expected to depreciate over the term of the lease. Horrible idea for someone who likes to keep cars for a long period of time or someone who puts a lot of miles on a car, but for someone who does low milege(under say 15k a year) and likes the new car smell, leasing definitely benefits the consumer.
