96 I30, my newest project

Picked this thing up late last year with 65K miles on it. Automatic, cloth interior, Bose, no sunroof - EXACTLY what I wanted in a Maxima but I found this 96 I30 while shopping.

Already Done:
Grey Lustre paint from 02+ Nissans
Shaved moldings
Shaved power antenna
20% fronts, 5% rears tint
Full power, heated leather swap from a car with -30K miles.
97 console with heated seats
Cefiro smoked headlights
Cefiro 3.0 grill
Cefiro script emblems
17x8" OZ Operas
Contintental 245/45 rears and Dunlop SP 245/45 fronts

To be done:
Smoked fogs with yellow capsules
Cefiro 3.0 tail lights with shaved rear bumper
Paradox Systems full body kit
H&R lowering springs

IMO the car looks cheaper without the door moldings, and the paint would look much better after a buff.. But you're off to a good start.

I LOVE the no door mold look. Gives it a Lexus bigdoor look. Nice job so far.

Not to mention, the lines created by the front and rear bumpers now look "off."

First, to each their own. I don't care if anyone likes my projects, I blaze my own trail every time and don't plan on stopping for anyone.

I felt like the moldings on the bumper framed the sides of the car well, and were necessary to tie with the chrome window trim and front grille- that is just how I saw it. I can agree with both the 'cheap car' and 'Lexus look' opinions because I think they're both very true. This is a $6500 car on it's best day, I bought it in cash, it is a cheap car - and the doors do very much remind me of 93-97 GS300s.

nismo3121 - These were taken on a severely overcast day, the paint is cherry. But when I mold the body kit I will have to respray a good amount of it. Haven't even wetsanded yet, no orange peel FTW

No. Haven't gotten to that yet. I'm sure it will all get done by the start of June as far as molding the kit and shaving the bumper, new tails, tinted fogs, and a respray.

I like the color you chose, but I really think the car needs the side moldings to look complete. What's with the current wheels? I also prefer the look of the stock grille, but to each his own.

Any idea how you plan on doing the yellow capsules? I tried to open my fogs by baking them, but the glue is too strong. Are you gonna use a dremel?

I would also look into clearing your tails or getting some off a 98-99....

95max - Hadn't looked at the fogs, but when I get it figured out, I will post some pics. These are what I've got planned for the tails. This seller will take $305 shipped, but I'm looking for a cheaper set at ~250 tops.

Nomad - Grey Lustre is one of my favs too, second only to Pearl White like my old 02. It was on air ride with a carputer and a white leather interior. Sold it to get money together to open my own dealership/mod shop.

looks good IMO. I'm going to get rid of the door moldings on my max if I get it painted. I like the look much better. Hows the shop idea going? Be nice to have a shop to go here in CT from another org guy.

Cdg - It's tougher to find a shop than I thought it was, at least in my price range. Finding a usable sq. footage in a decent traffic area for around $250K is nearly impossible. I could buy an older used gas station, but usually they operate on a land lease, which nearly triples my overhead. I was told that in Glastonbury, someone opened a shop off of Rte 3 maybe, called Redline something or other. But it just closed? So I'm slated to check it out next week - we will see.

Yes redline actually just closed a few months ago I think. I'm at school so I came back and it was closed. Strange really. It looks decent tho. Two bays I believe. It's actually not a bad spot to open a shop. Not sure how the $$ would be with it tho. Glastonbury is a pricey place. I hate the damn rich people in my town haha

My fault for misrepresenting the Paradox Systems kit as Ionic Dynamics. The parts I have are in fact manufactured for Paradox.
