Just like the title says... this was the first car show I have ever entered. I wish I could have taken more pictures but I didnt. It was a whole lotta work for me. Luckily, I had my girlfriend volunteer to help me out in detailing the car. We started at 6pm on Saturday, and didnt finish unitl midnight. We literally got every centimeter of the car
I still had to wake up at 4:30, to be at the location at 5am, and give it another coat of wax, polish the engine, detail every window trim of the car, re-polish the wheels, etc... I'm so freakin sore and tired... but it paid off!
I ended up getting 1st place in my class. Not bad, for the first time...hehehe
Here are the pics!
These are some pictures of my friend's rides... DMNTD fabrications. It was a good night because we all placed.
I actually have one lined up for May 6th and one in June. My girlfriend is hooked on the car show thing..lol, but its cool, she's the one thats encouraging me to do it. It was a lot of prep work, but well worth it. First thing she said when I won was "The first of many trophies for our new garage."
I also have a shootout that I will be competing in on May 19th (bracket racing). Just have to get my car tuned before then and i'll be ready to go!
And yep! REppin' for the Nissan fam! especially for Maximas!
the Max looks great man! good job on the 3.5....it looks comfy. that escalade is pretty sick too. the eclipse is very nice too, but i'm just not feeling the splitters.
that car is looking beautiful, just a couple quick questions.
what size rims and tires are you running.
what are the offsets of the rims.
how low are you dropped.
thanks for your help.
18x7.5's and i'm running on some(bald) 235/40/18's Nitto 555's--
I'm dropped about may 1 1/2 to 2 inches from stock (i think). I was dropped a lot more but I didnt want to jack up the kit so I raised it up a little.
I've only seen one other 4th gen Maxima here in El Paso with a kit and rims, but this was like 4 yrs ago. There are a few 5th gens with lip kits but they're never around in the streets. I'm the FIRST one in El Paso with the 3.5 swap! lol
looks good, congrats. Did any of the people notice the motor swap?
I actually made a sign with a picture of the old engine showing the stock HP it puts out, and then I had an arrow pointing downward to the 3.5 and with the stock HP it produces. I KNOW people wouldnt know what was done to it if it wasnt for that.
I've had people look at the engine and be like... intake, headers, udp, and thats it... then they see it run and be like nah.. you have to be squeezing. LOL its a funny moment when that happens.
I had some other guy hit me up at the track and ask me what size of turbo I was running. I told him all motor, and he was like whatever I hear it. What he heard was my flexpipe from the y-pipe rattle/whistle.... it kind of sounds like a turbo with no blow-off valve.
Then he saw me opening up my hood to adjust my struts, so he goes right away and tries to look for the turbo. I leave it open for him to see and he couldnt figure out what I had.
