Merlot Red maxima.

Hey guys, im considering picking up an 02 maroon max. I dont see very many in this color, and im wondering if any of you have pics of your maroon maximas? Everyone ive asked said it looks ugly in that color and that the white is the hottest. Maybe some pics of the red ones will help it grow on me?

there is no red maxima in 02. and i dont see too many maroon maxima's on the road. the popular colors are white, silver, black, blue, dark green if theres any.

i know that there is at least an AE maroon max but i think that the dark green looks the best! especially with the AE tailights

I'm pretty sure that there aren't any dark greens in the 5.5 gen. There are red ones although they're usually called merlot. I personally think that its a pretty cool color probably because it rare. I think it could def grow on you tho IMO.

I personally like Merlot. What color is the interior? Maxspeed96CT and GBauer have that color, check out their rides.

i prefer dark green or dark blue. i might have my car painted dark green if she ever needed a paintjob. anyway if that 02 maxima is in good mechanical condition then you shouldnt be so picky about the color. you should accept her the way she is from inside not the way she look from the outside. lol

I have a 03 Merlot. Very nice color. When I first bought the car I was gonna get a Grey Lustre, but decided to change to the Merlot after seeing one on the road. I scanned a pic of it, but for some reason I can't post pics.

Hey Maxspeed96CT I like the tint on your car. Not too dark or light. I am planning to do mine this spring and I was wandering what percent is the tint on your car?

I've loved that color since I bought it in March '01. It has a depth that the other colors didn't seem to match. At first I thought I'd get tired of it, but it turns out I've ordered a new car with a color very close to Merlot called Barbera red.

I'd love to post a pic, but I've been away from this board too long to be able to post pics or a new thread (I'd need to post another 14 replies to other posts before I could, apparently). If anyone is interested in my Maxima, check Cars.com - I'll be posting an ad there this evening.

The tint is 20% all around, but it seems just a bit lighter than the 20% i usally see on peoples cars.

Merlot 5.5s are HOT. They did not make green for the 5.5 gen. xlcrew has the only one, which is an 01 with a 5.5 conversion.

Actually, I don't know why the system thinks I've only been a member since '04. I was all over this forum in 2001 when I was deciding between a Maxima and a Passat - the only 2 V6 sedans available with a manual transmission in the $30K or less range at the time. This forum was very helpful, and so was VWVortex (which I don't know if it still exists). Nissan gripes were wind noise in the rear passenger window area. Passat gripes were electrical system failures... Hmmm, tough choice.

Ohh, and to stay on topic, the Passat red was not nearly as good as the Merlot.

Merlot is a buitifull color, no wonder it is one of the most expensive, if not the most expensive color, if you'll need some body work done later on.

I would post a picture of my merlot maxima gle but dont know how yet. Just look at the other pictures but instead of having black tint try smocked tint (brown color), especially if you have brown leather interior. brings the color out even better.
