i change tranny on my 2000 max 3.0 did not sand and cleaned the bellhousing before i put it bsck up, now car want start try running extra ground to starter and tranny nothing!! burnt the starter up (continuous cranking) upon taken the starter out spoted a missing bolt then 3 slack bolts then another missing bolt then search further and found that peice of the bellhousing lip not where any bolt hole is on the engine side is off(broken) about 2.5" in diameter dont know if its the mechanic fault or was ever there all of this must be the reason why i cant start my car. i decide to take the tranny back down clean & sand the two bellhousing and put back in, will this missing piece affect( 1)ground (2) starting (3) mobile driving and be an issue for debris or fluid getting in side.
