zman764 - No, I have not bought my 8th gen yet. I am very particular as to color, options, etc. I need to find out which factory installed options can also be installed by my dealer. I need to find out when my dealer will begin accepting Nissan Friends and Family discounts. I need to find the Maxima I want within a few hundred miles of my home. There is also the situation where discounts are harder to come by early on. Etc, etc.

I have searched and read every test drive I can find, and the consensus on the newly designed CVT is 'outstanding'. We have even had a few folks who never liked the CVT that now like it. The car rides very level in turns, smooths out bumps with technology rather than a pillow-like ride, etc. Test reviews have generally been very positive.

It may be weeks or even months before I have my 8th gen. Fortunately, my '09 has been absolutely perfect, and easily the best car I have owned in almost seventy years of driving.
