Yes it's likely resting on the bumpstops so trimming them down will allow the springs to rest at their intended height as the bumpstops keep the piston from topping out and damaging the housing.
I ran S-Tech's which were a similar drop and I cut 3/4 off the fronts I would trim the rear too if you can get at them. If I were to do it again I would cut off as much as I could leaving just enough to absorb bottoming.
