A Word of Thanks

I would like to thank the people that set up Maxus this year. The food was good, the day was great, I had a great time. It was nice to finally put some faces to some of you.

Thank you also goes out to Nissan for bringing the '09 Maxima and meeting with all of us.

Congrats to you Tom for best of show.

Thank you for all of those that came out... it was a way better turn out than expected (even with the prices for everything that has gone up)...we agreed a total of between 40 - 50 showed up throughout the day... I'm glad to hear that everyone had a good time despite some small obstacles... we had fun planning this out and wish the best of luck to who ever gets to host next year

i hope i get to see all of you again and that you all made/make it home safe.

**thank you nissan and all the other sponsors for making this happen!!**

It was all catered food. From pulled pork, chicken, to beans, rib tips, corn bread, macaroni con queso and some other stuff..... Lots of leftovers....

Thanks to all who made it worth while. Guys did a great job putting it together. Fun time overall, had a chance to talk to some good people.

Ya great job organizing Maxus this year guys! I was impressed with everything on Sunday. I won some very nice raffle prizes too. And with Kozue's great T-shirt design I will have something to remember the event by forever and ever!

Raffle prizes were great...including a Nissan Swiss Army Watch, Duffle bag, pens, shot glasses, led flashlights, coasters, nissan t-shirts and mechanic/tech work shirts, backpacks, gift certs from Cattman (2x$50 each), umbrellas, can coolers, stainless travel coffee mugs, hoodie sweat shirts...more prizes than people.

Good job pulling it off guys! I wish i could have gotten to the events earlier each time but, well, i had NO IDEA my way around the city so i had to wait for someone to play follow-the-leader with.

But yeah, I won a T-Shirt for "most insanely long drive to get here" coming in at 857 miles and 14 hours. I still haven't left yet... i slept like 12 hours just now so i'll be nice and rested to arrive back in raleigh at like 5am.

Lots of awesome cars there... 3.5L 4G... VGT 400WHP 3G.... SC 4G... tom's shiny-as-hell 5G... and even the 7G. Too bad it left before i made my way back over to it .

Whether in Chicago next year, or somewhere else (hopefully east of the Mississippi) I hope to return next year with much more of a car to show myself, and get to see what other crazy mods and gadgets you all come up with over a year's time. O yea, and BBQ=<3

Thanks for coming guys I had a lot of fun. Lots of good stuff was raffled off, and a lot of people showed up. A big thanks to Continental Nissan, Nissan, Cattman, Meguiars, Truax Motorsports, Internet Brands, and of course you guys that attended. If it wasn't for these sponsors and you guys, this event would have not taken place. Hopefully next year will be bigger and better than this years. And wherever it is I will try my hardest to make it out there. And if I can't take my Maxima, I will rent a Maxima.

I also just wanted to thank Xander, Kozue and Dave, you guys did a great job! I was only able to attend the Sunday festivities, but it was worth it. I didn't expect so much stuff to be raffled off or catered food either. Met some cool people, smoked exotic mango in a hookha, and saw some nice cars. Good meeting you all. See you in '09.

yay! by east coast do you mean right on the shorline, or like, east-coast states but still a few hundred miles inland of the ocean? I think having Maxus in the mountains would be kinda cool for the cruise.... carving through twisty mountain trails in 4DSCs ftw? Just have to find a city big enough to have the other events, hotels, and etc. Maybe the 2010 Diesel will be available for demonstration next year... that'd be kinda cool.

Asheville, NC is supposed to be a great little city and it would be close to some great mountain roads but I doubt there are enough Orgers there to organize it.

Best places for Maxus next year would be DC or Atlanta. DC significantly closer to the South and the Midwest than NY or Boston while still being close to the Northeast. Atlanta would draw Orgers from Texas to Florida as well as farther north.

Just east of Ohio type of thing... well, east coast shoreline would be cool too tho... good reason to take some time off and go on vacation or something if it's too far though, i'm not bringing my max...dunno if my car will make the long haul... i'll just rent one or something...

concerning the Carolinas, yea, i've heard good things about Asheville... Boone is a little small (Appalachian State Univ is half the town's population), Raleigh is a little bit uneventful. Bristol TN would be cool too... dragstrip there.. and mountains. I'd say to be south of Ohio tho b/c I dunno if there's much to do in Pennsylvania. Atlanta would be cool except the traffic and stuff. Goon and Greeny could probably make any of those cities.

But if it's mountains you want, then Asheville is definitely the right spot. It's the only major city out east that's actually not just near, but is in the mountains. 2 hours to and from the peak of tallest mountain east of the Mississippi (Mount Mitchell). http://maps.google.com/maps?q=35.596...=1&sa=N&tab=wl

compared to the 14.5 hour trip I did to get to Chicago... Asheville is within 10 hours of Chicago, St Louis, Atlanta, Pittsburgh, Philly, Jacksonville, Birmingham, New Orleans (if you speed a lil bit), Cincinnati, Cleveland, and Richmond.

it's a matter of who throws down and says it's here and I'm organizing it.
for 08 alot of people said they wanted it on the east coast but no one said they would organize it, so it ended up here.

I'm almost down for anywhere. Even in Cali, but I will fly out there and rent a Maxima. But if its within 1 and half days of driving I'm down to bring the Maxima.
