SE-R '07 in Chicago was a great turnout. We don't have many people in Chicago to begin with, yet we managed to have a ton of cars show up from diff parts of the country. The track we had is one of the best organized facilities in the country. I dunno why you would say that Rob.... didn't like Chicago as a city ?
Chicago is a nice place to go visit, its got one of the best looking skylines and there are tons of clubs, bars and what not to visit.
This said, I already have '08 SE-R in Vegas setup as far as vacation goes. We are towing our cars out on a big semi. I won't be at a Maxus next year if its out of state, simply because I don't have the vacation time- and there won't be no hot lapping.

i loved chicago, it was a great city. having been to other ser conventions, chicago was the lowest turnout. put it this way, when it was in PA/NJ, there were over 100 cars on the track, and over 150 at the picnic. in chicago there were i think 40 cars on the track, and you were at the picnic so you seen how many cars were there.
and yeah, i cant wait for vegas next yr, the ser conventions rock!

I don't know if we can count on that, but they are planning on finishing their road course this fall. (and consequently open it for 2008 season)

DCMAX annual BBQ had something like 30 Maximas show up yesterday - and that's just people from VA/MD/DC, plus a few Infinitis and other Nissans. Clearly mid-Atlantic is where it is. Plus it's only an hour or two to Summit Point raceway or VIR (for road racing) or MIR/Capitol (for drag).......

I'd be down for the DC area. I've never been to the mid-atlantic, so I think that'd be a pretty cool trip. Hopefully next summer I won't have to worry about any classes.
Just don't get any speeding tickets in VA

Either way, who ever does should try to get a road course. we couldn't pull it off this year, but at least there were other things to do. I wouldn't mind visiting the mid-atlantic area either...........so who can step up from each rgion and make a compelling argument for their area?

If one of you guys could pull it off, I'll be there. As a few suggestions to make next years Maxus bigger and better, start a donation cup early especially if you guys don't have much sponsors to begin with. Do fundraisers, without Hector's detailing fundraising events we wouldn't have much food or anything else. Have a committee group and have it monthly to weekly as you get closer to the date. Try not to do all the work yourself, I know I did a few times and I know I could feel Matt's pain too for 05' and 06's Maxus. Make sure people that are in the committee are committed to help out. We had a few slackers, but I'm not naming any names in Chicago Maxus committee, but some of us had to pick up the slack where they were suppose to help. Start reserving locations early, cuz those spots fill in quickly. Have all facilties centralized from the hotel so access to all the events is easy for everyone to get too. If you guys really want it on the East Coast, you guys need to start getting together and see if you guys could pull it off. I know here in Chicago, there is a good amount of people that are ready to pull off another Maxus in Chicago if it does happen.

If this was in the central states, I would consider going but anywhere farther than central states then there is no way I'm about to drive that far.
