had to get back to the hotel so you could post, eh?
Hey, don't trash talk, I was involved in an insane highway fiasco, I got separated and just came back to the hotel with a few other guys. It's been a rough night

Man this sucks....I end up not being able to come...was in a wedding 1 and 2 my car is in the shop... I cried the whole weekend. But it looks like it was fun...maybe next year if I still have the max. Screw it I'm going anyway...
That's ALL the cars that showed? I thought this was suppose to be a BIG THING? WTF?
In my own experience...car meets aren't what they used to be. Either people/members are too young and without money or they are older and have busy lives with their families.
I'm a part of the latter, but since this was in Dallas there wasn't much 'time' I had to be away for.

It's because of people with attitudes like that that not a lot of people showed. there was hardly anyone from the Dallas, OKC, Tulsa, and Houston areas this year who showed up in force last year. I think more people showed up from out of state than did locally.
Also note that we had cars from North Carolina, Utah, Massachussets, Wisconsin, Virginia, Alabama, Oklahoma, Louisiana, TX (of course), Indiana, Kansas...... And those are just the ones I remember right off hand. I think that's a pretty impressive feat in itself. We pretty much hit coast to coast this year.
Let's also just say that everyone I talked to that showed up had a blast. That's what matters.
Hope everyone has a safe drive home!!

I had a huge blast! Originally, I couldn't plan on going to the events other than MSR. I'm glad I worked around all that and I'm glad the organizers pulled it through. I met a lot of really cool people. The track was the best! A lot of nice Maximas came through. Pics won't do these cars much justice- you just have to see them up close to really appreciate the details and the hard work involved. Hands down to the true die-hards who drove the distance to get here. It's dedicated people like that who really get me to appreciate what being an enthusiast is all about. You probably won't find any other Maxima owners like that! Thank you all!
I had fun, I had to make it a Maxus/Romantic get away weekend for my girl to let me go but i still pulled it off. SpeedZone was fun, and the Car Show looked good. There were only 2 of us from San Antonio but we made it. I dont get to see that many maxima's in one place so to see 20-30 max's in one parking lot was really kool. Thanks to all that helped in planning the event, im looking to head back in 2007!!!! I'll post the pics i have after i get off work.
p.s. - thanks Matt for giving me those directions to the show over the phone. Why did Trophy pull out?
because they're wankers.
they supposedly didn't "have any control" over the event, which I've been asking them for a YEAR if they wanted to do anything differently than what I had planned. they never had a problem with it until 3 days before the event.
I personally think they were just looking for a way out all along and simply didn't want to tell me no. typical used car salesman.
Nice pics. Pretty cool guys. Marc, I think we had the biggest meet in NYC this year. Brooke, told you we were beating Maxus. Great that people came from alll over though. VERY impressive.
I should be getting my laptop back tomorrow, so i'll upload my e-brake "event" and the other pictures from the track that the 'Great bystanders' had taken! Thanks everyone for taking pictures while i was going speed crazy on Sat.

yes u are a speed demon haha....im at work and i cant see if anyone else's pix are coming up so here are some of mine...camera phone so dont put me on blast lol
The venue looked a lot better than last year so good job on that, but yeah the turn out looked weaker.
Did any of the Austin guys go? My opinion is that there wasn't enough planned/organized extra-curicular activities (other than SpeedZone). I think if someone is too broke to go out and have a nice dinner/evening, then they're too broke to pay the gas money/plane trip to go this sort of event. You know you guys are all ballahs on .org
Sat night, about 12 of us that didn't go to the detailing party at Master's Touch all went to a messican place down the street and enjoyed some frosty adult beverages. Several others supposedly went to Duke's dueling piano bar.
there were many things to do there, but I left it up to everyone to find something do you. I got them TO dallas, it's up to them to have fun while there.
Last year, I was criticized for trying to manage all the evening activities outside of the event schedule.. this year I stepped back and let everyone do their own thing around the major events, and I get criticized for not doing enough.
And no, i don't know of any/many Austin guys that were there. Last year there were a bunch that showed up. I don't recall seeing any familiar Austin faces this year.
