Here's a Suggestion -The New New Orleans ?

This is probabaly a stretch, so don't give me too much heat ...I know this is a sensistive issue, so forgive me if I ruffle some feathers...I don't mean to be insensititve , but here's my suggestion. Since Maxxus is gonna be happening in 2006, I figured that , even though the City of New Orleans is pretty much in the drink right now, by the time this meet is gonna happen, it would be a good idea to hold Maxxus in the new, improved, and reconstructed New Orleans as both a tribute to the tragedy , and as a salute to the reconstructed city .

Again, let me say, i'm not out to piss anyone off , get banned, slammed or flamed for suggesting this. I just figured the location and timing would be good, as would be a good opprotunity to pay tribute to those lost in this disaster.

That would be great. I just don't know what would be done by 2006. 2007-2008 at least before there is really anything there to really do. I have heard a lot of rumors, but it will be a long time before they can fix the levees and drain the city.

it's a good idea, but don't plan on New Orleans being "rebuilt" anytime in 2006.
before they even begin that process, cleanup is going to take a long time.

not pessimism, just realism. :\

Well, they're already getting the water out of the city pretty fast. By the beginning of 2007, (at the latest) ,things should be back on top.

Look at the Chicago Fire. Burnt the whole city to the ground. And now look at the place.

There's still hope for the Big Easy.

::cliffnotes at bottom::

i'm positive that by mid-2006 NO will be basically back to normal besides a couple of damaged buildings here and there, but i dont think it will be in any shape to host something like this...number one, we have to have sponsors, and i dont think anyone around there is going to be ABLE to sponsor something like maxus considering everything all the businesses lost...now from first hand experiance ( i live 25 miles from NO) i really do think that the city will be up and running in no time...i will be going there with my cousin to her house in the french quarter pretty soon, and will know even more than i already know about the issue right now....but let me tell yall: do NOT listen to the stupid media about this....things are totally different than what they're saying.....all they're focusing on right now is the bad stuff...the recovery effort over here is really a miracle.....i left for a week a couple days after the hurricane and when i came back, it looked like a different state....tomorrow they are going to have basically all of the major roadways into NO open besides the I-10 going into the city considering it's partly wiped out right now...but even that will open soon...

anyway, sorry i went off on a tangent there, but IMO, i think this would be a great idea for maxus 2007 or 8 like mentioned above, but 2006 is just too soon to be able to plan everything and find a sponsor like trophy nissan in dallas....

Well, can we agree that 2007 would be a good time for this ( hurricanes permitting)?

And its a good drive for everyone either on the east or west coast.
