FS: 1996 Nissan Maxima for Parts. (Still running)

Hi Everyone,

I have for sale a black 1996 Nissan Maxima. I am unsure of the trim but it's either an SE or a GXE. Gray cloth interior with black exterior. The car has about 230,000 miles on it with original engine and transmission. Automatic Transmission shifts good.

Main Problem:
It looks like the Radiator fluid is leaking pretty bad. The car starts up and drive, but unless you remember to put water in it (about 1/2 gallon a day), it'll start to overheat.

The car starts up and is still being driven daily. However, we need something a little newer now. We don't want to see the car to someone without telling them about the problem or claiming it's a car that will run fine because we don't want anyone to get hurt. The car still has useable parts from interior and exterior.

It does have a CEL on. We are located in the Philadelphia area and want to just sell the car as a parts car. We don't have space to keep a car for parting out, so instead we'd rather just sell the car as is to someone who can either fix it or someone who will use it for parts. I will try to get some pictures up soon. Clean title. Stock car, unmodded. Steel wheels.

I want to just take offers but as the rules say, I have to put up an asking price. I'll start with putting it up for $1,000. I am completely open to offers so just let me know, or if someone a few orgers have a better idea of what to ask for, I'll take it into consideration. If you have any questions, please PM me or email me at onoishno0dl3z@yahoo.com

Thanks,
Have a nice day

Same question as above. Its an actual leak and not a head gasket as far as you know?

Have you checked the CEL codes?

Hey,

I don't drive the 96 maxima, it belongs to my uncle and I rarely see it on weekdays. Haven't been in the car in quite a while so I'm just going off of what I'm told right now.

It sounds like it's definitely a leak (can see dripping) and he the dripping is near the oil pan area. We haven't had a chance to trace it at all. I'll try and get some pics up when the weekend comes around. Still busy with classes.

As for the CEL, I haven't pulled the codes yet. I'll try and see if I can get them pulled over the weekend as well.
