Puting the max up for sale. Got a lot going on right now and the maximas just siting around. Im moving on to somthing with a big ol american V8 in it so I need room for it. Im going to be 100% honest about everything thats good and bad about the car. Its def. a hard car for me to part with.
Its a 1996 SE 5spd. The body's got about 158k on it. I bought it in 2001 with 96k on it. Around 120k or so the transmission blew so I had a rebuilt one put it. Around 137k I had timing chain issues and the motor wouldnt turn over so I got an engine from work (Toms Foreign Auto Parts, tomsforeignautoparts on ebay) with 17k miles on it from a 99 maxima. So the engines got around 38k miles on it at this point and about the same on the transmission.
The car was backed into at work (pictures on cardomain) so In late 05 I had the car repainted red. This was a full color change with door jams. Unless you open the hood, you would never know it was originally green. Last year I had the car supercharged for about 3 weeks and put about 30 boosted miles on it. When my daily driver blew up I decided to buy somthing newer and nicer so I parked the max, sold the supercharger and my broken jeep and bought an 04 pathfinder.
Its got the usuall SE options. Sunroof, heated seats, dual power seats, heated mirrors, etc.

I sold the subs and amp out of the car but its still fully wired for subs.
The Bad
Theres really no serious issues with this car but a couple things it does need that you should be aware of. The hood needs to be re clear coated. The clear coats starting to wear off on it. This should only run about 100 bucks to have somone spray the hood. I also never put hood struts on the CF hood, this was never a big deal for me but somthing to know about. The hood pins are a little rusty just from being a few years old. Their about $35 for a new set of sparko pins. Im missing one little inside plastic door handle cup, its like $8 from courtesy nissan so I may get one before selling the car. The car really needs a good wax on it, I just registered it and drove it for a few weeks, other then that its been in the garage for about 8 months. The front suspension is noisy, it squeeks. Its still good, it doesnt bounce or anything its just noisy. The AC curently doesnt blow cold but im going to get it recharged before the sale, im sure its just low on freon.
