92 VE 5 spd for sale in Nashville, TN (Sold 05/28/08 )
I'm thinking it may be time. I have four vehicles and not enough time to drive/maintain them all. Also I'm moving in the fall and I ultimately need to get down to two vehicles. So the Maxima is up for sale.
Serial # JN1EJ01P5NT102532
Aztec Red (AG2)
161,xxx miles
5 speed manual w/VSLD
This was originally a TX car (until 99) although it spent time in Conneticut/Massachusets areas until early 2003. It has been in Nashville since Feb 2003. A CarFax report shows a salvage title although my TN title shows clean. When I bought the car it did not smell like a smokers car and since I don't smoke, it still doesn't.
The car is a great daily driver and runs strong. The AC still freezes my hands off. The engine uses maybe a quart of oil between changes every 3000 miles. Overall the car is in decent shape for a nearly 17 year old car. Of course there are problems. There is a small wear through spot in the drivers outside leg bolster. The drivers door has the pre-requisite door dings. There is a very small dent in the drivers side front fender lip (see pic). The sunroof has a crack that runs the length of it although it does not leak at all. I have no trunk key, but the drivers door trunk popper works just fine. It's also missing the passenger side fog light lense. The rear bumper cover is shedding it's paint in places, but it seems to have stabilzed as it hasn't lost much in 5 years (see before & after pics). The rear wing is loose at both ends like most 3rd Gens. There are some assorted clunks when going over bumps.
The cruise control works like it should. The AC really is ice cold. It idles and runs out nicely. The exhaust rumbles at idle, but is pretty quiet while cruising. Tip into the throttle though and it has a nice growl to it. It is a fun car to drive.
I've recently replaced all of the belts and both radiator hoses and flushed the coolant. The oil has always been changed regularly (well, since I've had it anyways).
Also since I've had it I replaced/repaired these items.
- All four window regulators have been replaced with the "upgraded" replacement units.
- The windsheild wiper linkage under the cowl has been replaced.
- The Bose stereo system has been replaced with an AIWA CDC-X304 HU and non-Bose speakers.
- All manifold studs have been replaced with the uprated Z car studs & hardware.
- Replaced all 6 Coils (3 OEM, 3 Borg Warner)
- Replaced passenger rear caliper
- Replaced both Master and Slave clutch hydraulic cylinders
- Replaced the fuel filter and rubber hoses to and from it
- Replaced the power steering pump
- Replaced the AC belt idler pulley
- New O2 sensor
- *** BONUS *** The battery gave out today (05/23/08) so you get a new battery and one new terminal with the car.
Modifications include:
1997 16" SE wheels with Kuhmo Ecsta 225/50R16 tires with about 80% tread.
SuspensionTech 1.5" drop springs
KYB GR-2 Front struts (about 30K miles)
Monroe Rear Struts (about 30k miles)
4 KYB strut boots
WarpSpeed 2.5" Y-pipe
CarSound Highflow 2.5" cat
WarpSpeed 2.5" B-pipe with resonator (see pic)
Generic 2.5" Turbo Muffler with Chrome Tip.
Generic cone air filter in short ram configuration
Front Strut Tower Bar
I have extra parts as well.
- The original 6 coil packs which are un-cracked.
- A spare 3rd gen ECU (don't know for VG/VE or Manual/Auto)
- The original intake manifold parts
- 5 extra fuel injectors that ohm out at 11 ohms
- Power Antenna
- Door Timer Lock module
- IACV
- Assorted relays
- 4 original Sawblade wheels with crappy tires.
*** BONUS *** If you buy it quickly, it has a full tank of 93 octane premium. I do drive this car at times so I do not promise that the Maxima will have a completely full tank when you purchase it. But it is full now (05/22/08)
I am selling this car for $1000 firm.
I you want any of the parts, buy the car. I'm not parting ANYTHING out. Period. Don't ask.
Here are some recent pics. I'll be adding more.

blah, a stick is illogical around me. heck the civic stick only does 20mpg last I recall.
my subie is pulling 19mpg for me right now.
not to mention for me it's a delivery car nowadays and I need to be able to concentrate on driving and orders not shifting.
