2011 Maxima Of the Month NOMINATIONS

PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE POST AND FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS. (i'm sorry that it's long but please take the time to read it all)

Here are the guidelines....
- This is open to all generations to members that are in good standing..(no banned members). The member must have at least 100 posts.
- Please if you're going to pick someone's car other than yours, please make sure you have their permission.
- If you made updates to your car please edit your post. If you need help, I can help you update pics and etc.
- Please DO NOT post any additional comments this thread is STRICTLY for MOTM cars/nominations. I don't want to see someone post their car and have 20 people make comments on it.
- If we don't pick your car this month we might pick it the next month so don't be discourage.
- NO EBAY pics/cars. If you guys are posting pimp my ride car pics or something stupid on ebay then this is gone. Don't ruin it for the rest of the community!!!

Here's what you post in this thread...

- List the year of your car
- List your location (state/country) is fine
- Contact info - email or PM? - we need to contact you if we pick you.
- Mods you have made, if any or things you have done to it (i'm not talking about oil changes and filling it up with gas).
- 50 words or less why you feel "this" car should be MOTM. Because i think it's cool won't do it. Tell us something about it...why it should be picked out of all the other Maximas on the forum. Perhaps a small story about how you got the car or how you work on it..etc. Don't have to be Shakespeare but please use proper English.
- Most important part!!! - post pictures...please no cell phone camera pics. let's see the shine here. Borrow a friend's camera if you have to...host the picture on a site (photobucket or similar) and link it to the thread. Please wash/clean your car!!! Don't leave personal items in/on the car for the photoshoot. Please no more than 4 pictures. A good mix would be front, rear quarter, engine, and interior. Just give us a good idea what you have going on there. If you get picked we might request additional pics from you so be ready.

Failure to follow directions will cause your post to be deleted or your nomination rejected. I don't want to hear the complaints. You have been warned. Rules are subject to change.

Thanks for reading. Let the games begin!!
Dan

Imma nominate myself
- The year of my Maxima is 2000 GLE
- The location of my Maxima is in Cali.
- You can reach me via PM
- The mods I've done to my Maxima... (20% tint all around, , roof overlay, SE overlay'ed tails, AE front lip, 5.5gen side skirts, Warpspeed y-pipe, Powertech muffler, D2 coilovers, Work Meister S2R, Kumho tires)
- I feel that my Maxima is MOTM worthy because it's different from everyone else yet very subtle and OEM and not over-obsessively modded. Although my mods are nothing new and very common, but the combination that I put together reflects who I am, which is just to stand out a bit, but not flashy or hey-look-at-my-modded-4door-nissan-sedan type of stuff. I love my Maxima and I wouldn't trade it for any other car (in its year and class).

This was the stock beast from a year and a half ago.

And this is as of December

Additional pictures are available upon request. Thanks!

I am going to nominate Grey99max aka Harold. Grey is over 2000 posts and has been a member since 1/2004 and this would make a perfect 5 year anniversary gift. Grey is not afraid to go against the grain and out of this has invented penty of devices and gadgets for the maxima comminuty. He is currently the 6th fastest maxima and 2nd fastest auto maxima on the org only 2nd to jime who is the fastest maxima over all. the best part is Grey has done this with a real full interior. Harold is always quick to help with his detailed notes and pic's of his builds.

Plus I just think is cool to have a 4-door family sedan that can run 12's with the windows up, a/c on and ZZ top blasting out the trunk

- Car info
- Grey 1999 Maxima
- Location, Topeka, KS
- Contact info, grey99max

- '99 GXE, Tune-by-Tape MAF mod, 3.5L w/cams, SSIM, 255Walbro,AERO FPR, VLSDauto, Edge TC, DR-mod, Shift_Fast, dual-B&M cooler, JClawbars, dual-NX nitrous, dual heated15lb bottles, OBX headers, 3"Warpspeed exhaust, PLXR-300 wideband, IlluminasStrut/springs, 24.5"M&H, ProgressRSB, HawkHPS, Clarion50Wx4 head w/Alpines, Fosgate sub. Spare tire+jack,3300 lb car. 355WHP-dyno.

since this is not my car I am pretty sure Grey99max will include any addition info or pic's that I may have missed

I would like to nominate myself..
It is the 7th Maxima i bought...bought it two years ago as a 21st birthday present for myself. The car currently has 146k miles on it with the original 5spd tranny that came with the car but can use a good rebuild. It will be boosted soon the way Hal (hlh) had his blue one or a built 3.5 swap for the boost. Oh an both the front (cloth) seats are Automatic.

Car & Driver

Name - Talha Khan
Car - 1995 Nissan Maxima Se
Trans - Standard (5spd)
Color - Blue
Location - Akron, Ohio
can be reached at "rattlesnake3886@msn.com" or PM'ed here

Performance Mods:
Mevi (middle Eastern Variable Intake)
Exedy Stage II Clutch
12 LB. Flywheel
Unothodox UDP
No A/C Compressor
Injen Cold Air Intake
Warspeed Y-Pipe
Straight Midpipe
Megan Racing 2.5" Cat-Back
Walbro 255lph Fuel Pump
VAFC I
Energy Suspension Motor Mounts
Optima Redtop Battery.

Suspension/Handling:
Tokico Blues Struts and Springs
Drilled and slotted Rotors w/ Ceramic Pads
FD (RX-7) 16"X8" Wheels with Yokohoma Tires
and 15" saw blades for the winter

Others:
5% tints all around
now has www.Maxima.org stickers

Reason why:
I think because of the rare color and the condtition the car is in, shows no signs of rust, engine running super strong at 146k miles so is the tranny...and is capable of running high 13 seconds in a 1/4 mile on street tires. It is a TRUE SLEEPER.

thanks for looking

Talha.

I nominate myself for Maxima of the Month:

Screename - Cinemax
Location - TN
Year Model - 2008 SE-R

Modifications:
800w California Amp
10" JL Audio 10W6 Sub
5" Rear Seat Sub Port
18"x8" Cruiser Alloy Blackhawks
Onyx Painted Roof and Trunk
SE-R Styled Grille
SE-R Trunk Logo
Reprogrammed Computer
Roof Spoiler
LED Tail Lamps
Clear Door Lamps
LED Interior Lamps
LED Trunk Lamp

Why should I be Maxima of the month? Ultimately, I wanted to create the car that Nissan should have. There are SE-R Sentras and Altimas, so it's only fitting that they should have made an SE-R Maxima. I don't have the engine mods like other members (car is still under warranty), so I hope that won't affect people's judgment of my car too badly.

I'd like to nominate Flava_24/7
Car: 1996 Maxima
Location: Austin TX

I think this is one of the best maximas I've seen from any generation. He has done loads of performance work, all top of the line without cutting any corners. On top of that the styling of the car is really amazing. The carbon fiber white contrast with black and carbon fiber interior really looks great. The car is in fabulous shape and I doubt anyone that looked at it would guess its a 96. He has been a member of the org for a long time and really deserves to be MOTM, I'm shocked he hasn't been chosen in the past.

- Why MOTM
why MOTM? well, I think I am one of a hand full of people that have done the 3.5 w/forced induction. I did the swap back in the summer of '07 with a buddy of mine helping out and by winter it was boosted. I've turned almost every single bolt on this car and have done all the work myself with the exception of the paint job. I was always a honda guy and still am, but my maxima has brought me into a much better community and has definitely turned my attention to a more alternative platform than the typical run of the mill cars.

Pics!!
here are some pics from a few weeks ago.

most recent shot with the roof spoiler( i'll get better shots if i get picked)

Information/Reason:

Well. Simply put. You will NOT find a 4th Generation Maxima with all original paint and body panels in better shape than mine. You will not. The car is maintained as if it was a show car. Washed and waxed weekly, only the best products used on/in it. Paint feels like glass, even now.

This car sat for 2 years before I bought it on November 6th, 2006 from an older couple. The lady, who was the primary driver, had only used it for grocery's and errands, so even in 2006 the car had just 26,004 miles. However, when I got it, the suspension was rusted to hell and so were the brakes. That is all thanks to Syracuse, NY winters (for those of you who know how those are). I cleaned it all up on the underside, replaced all of the old rusted parts, and re-coated the underbody.

You will not find a better 4th Generation Maxima when it comes to condition and maintenance. The pictures will speak for themselves.

My claim to 'fame' is the cleanliness and condition of my 10yr old car.

I nominate myself for Maxima of the month!

TeH(The) BawNeY! = New York State
Aim = BawNeY119 or TeHbawney@gmail.com

2000 Nissan Maxima SE Auto

I think my car would be deserving of Maxima of the month because at 170,000 miles its one of the cleanest black fifth gens out there! It has also made a massive transformation since I got it! It used to be a complete joke on this entire forum for some of the hideous mods I did. Through this community and this car I have learned so much about cars and Maximas in general. I went from spending a whole day putting an intake in to installing an entire nitrous kit myself. Thus I feel this car is a good choice because only through this community could I have transformed this car into a work of art! Thank you for all the help so far and for your consideration!

The pics! Many more can be provided if needed! Especially of all the cool little mods I have listed below!

Id rather not show the engine bay unless Im chosen, if not I want to save the suprises for Maxus 10'! =]

Other stuff:
Cleared and blacked out headlights
Black painted grill
Clear front side markers
White LEDs in all 194 slots
5k headlights and 55w 5k fogs
'00-01 SE tail lights
18" 350Z Track Edition Rays wheels with 245/40/18" General Exclaim UHPs
Progress springs
Brake calipers ground to fit 15" wheels/slicks and painted black
Dimpled and coated Brembo rotors
Hawk HPS pads
SS brake lines
ES shifter bushings
ES engine and transmission mounts
ES subframe bushings
Home-made transmission-mounted short shifter
Optima red-top battery
Home-made grounding kit
Hidden switch panel in ash tray for nitrous
Custom license plate "VQ35MAX"
Fully debadged except for Nissan hamburgers
50% tint all around

Should I be chosen, I can go somewhere more photogenic and take better pictures. For contact info PM me on these forums, I am on here daily.

Reason it should be MOTM: I represent the average Maxima performance tuner. I worked on a tight budget for the last 2 years, doing all work myself to get it to where it is today for both looks and track performance, using this forum exclusively for information and decisions on mods. All mods are tasteful and retains the classy look of the 5th gen. It also currently holds the record as the fastest 5.5 gen and is also one of the fastest N/A 5.5 gens (1/4 mile).

As far as why I believe this should be MOTM? This car is the finest vehicle I have ever owned. I enjoy modding her and I think that what has been done is functional, astheticaly pleasing, and classy. As you can see I have an SQ obsession which is reflected in the entire make up of this cars modifications. This car will be given to my son on his graduation day and aside from the car audio competition awards being MOTM will make it even greater for him.

I nominate myself for MOTM.

I think I deserve to be MOTM because it has been an ongoing project for 5 years and it is approaching "completion". I don't think I'll ever be done honestly...and I've gotten a couple of PMs urging me to apply. Maxima.Org helped me in my decision to choose this car, I searched and searched for a pearl white 2002 6-speed with leather and I finally found one in Missouri, so I took the 10 hour drive to get it. It is pretty much my child.

I believe my car should be selected for MOTM because this wasnt my first choice car. I sincerely was searching for a 4th Gen 5 speed, but fell upon this by complete accident, I was in dire straights and needed a vehicle. I walked into the dealership inquiring about the car i saw on autotrader figuring it was automatic and planning to buy it. At my suprise, it was 5speed...and so the addiction to mod is evident...

I feel my car should be MOTM because it is THE masterpiece of my passion. I don’t just tastefully mod my car, but I go with its flow to balance performace and style without compromising everyday driveability. Yes my car is my daily driver. I’ve built my car so I can drive it, not to park it to just look good. Ive put blood, sweat, and tears into it and the car has changed so much over the years. My first actual car show that ive entered in was Maxus 2010 and I proved myself well by taking 2nd Place “Lightly” Modified 5th Gen.

Information/Reason:

This Maxima is truley unique. Everything put into this car was well thought before making the decision I have made. I wanted to give this Maxima a modern, but clean look. All work done on the car has been done professionally.

I've owned this Maxima for only a few months. I bought it from another local Maxima enthusist. The car has been very well maintained all its like. Only the best fluids, and trusted parts.

Im your average guy who loves his cars. In more detail, this is my 6th Maxima I've owned. Each one that I moddified topped the other. These cars have so much potential. Locally and even across the web, people who don't know about Maximas get curious and want to know more about my car, and why I've chosen this car, and not your average moddified Honda/GM.

I'm all about being unique, and this Maxima speaks for it's self.

Mods:
Nitrous express wet kit
Nitrous bottle warmer
Purge kit
Racingline strut bar
Racingline y pipe
Eibach pro kit
Afe Takeda short ram intake
Bullydog tune
+2 timing advance
Stillen front lip
Stillen Roof wing
5 percent tint including windshield
Tinted front/tail lights
Custom painted engine covers (red)
Foglight rewire

I belive this should be MOTM because this 7th gen is truly unique to all the other ones out there. This is the first 7th gen max to have any type of forced induction (nitrous) in it. Despite many saying the CVT tranny wont hold the extra power, I was willing and succesfully took the risk to take my max to the next level of performance. Along with my exterior and other performance mods I believe this is the way nissan should have made the car straight from the factory.

WHY?
I believe this car should be MOTM because it has come a long way since I bought the car back in 05. I have spent alot time and money customizing my maxima. Mods that I have done kept the car simple and clean. I have always tried to stand out from the rest in any way I can but make it so it is still recognized as a max. Thank you.

As you all know I'm Chris. I'm extremely nervous just sitting here submitting my car, but I figured I'd give it a shot. I've had this car since March 31st and it's come such a long way since then. I believe that I should win MOTM for October (hopefully since it's my birthday on the 22nd) because I keep this 14yr old car super clean and have modified it with my own simple yet tasteful style while being on a huge budget. Even if I had all the money in the world, I wouldn't change one thing that I've done to this car.

Ok i feel like i deserve to win MOTM because im one of the few maxima's on here that are "slammed" and are also daily drivin in a city full of pot holes lol.....anyway i feel like the way i have my car it stands out no matter where i drive/bring it,ive only had this car for a few months and have made serious progress, i have LOTS more in mind for it but i thought id nominate it now and give it a shot...and im pretty nervous about it..... im constantly answering questions from people.....how do you drive it so low?, what wheels are those?....along with the compliments and the attention i receive with this car and i LOVE it. this is why i did what i did to it for the attention and the AAWWWW factor that comes along with it...when i took this car over from my girlfriend it was smashed and just a disaster after she had rear-ended two people and gave up on it ...broken grille, headlight falling out, front bumper smashed and smashed sitting on 00 gle 16's. i just took all my parts from my 01 that would fit and transfered them over and made what i believe to be one sick 5.5 gen. hopefully you'll pick me to represent the org as MOTM and it would be an honor to have that privilege. maxima's to me aren't just a car there a way of life, and im sure theres a lot of people on here who would agree with me!

just RECENTLY was featured on a website! which is tough to do considering it a Euro website.

My 01 below ( what i gave up for the 03)

- Los Angeles, Ca

- 22" Wheels, 245/30/22 tires
- When I 1st saw the 7th gen Maxima, I didn't even really like it. But after looking and seeing it several times, it started growing on me. I never really considered buying a FWD car either since I'm more of an aggressive driver. But I test drove the Max anyway. And when I drove it. I knew I had to have it.
