2009 Maxima Of the Month NOMINATIONS

Since MOTM worked out well for 08 let's keep it going for 09.
The old thread is closed and we'll start 09 with this thread. The beginning of 09 will use the old nominations thread and this one since people might be slow in getting their cars on this thread.

PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE POST AND FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS. (i'm sorry that it's long but please take the time to read it all)

Here are the guidelines....
- This is open to all generations to members that are in good standing..(no banned members). For 2009 I'm going to request the member have at least 100 posts.
- Please if you're going to pick someone's car other than yours, please make sure you have their permission.
- If you made updates to your car please edit your post. If you need help, I can help you update pics and etc.
- Please DO NOT post any additional comments this thread is STRICTLY for MOTM cars/nominations. I don't want to see someone post their car and have 20 people make comments on it.
- If we don't pick your car this month we might pick it the next month so don't be discourage.
- NO EBAY pics/cars. If you guys are posting pimp my ride car pics or something stupid on ebay then this is gone. Don't ruin it for the rest of the community!!!

Here's what you post in this thread...

- List the year of your car
- List your location (state/country) is fine
- Contact info - email or PM? - we need to contact you if we pick you.
- Mods you have made, if any or things you have done to it (i'm not talking about oil changes and filling it up with gas).
- 50 words or less why you feel "this" car should be MOTM. Because i think it's cool won't do it. Tell us something about it...why it should be picked out of all the other Maximas on the forum. Perhaps a small story about how you got the car or how you work on it..etc. Don't have to be Shakespeare but please use proper English.
- Most important part!!! - post pictures...please no cell phone camera pics. let's see the shine here. Borrow a friend's camera if you have to...host the picture on a site (photobucket or similar) and link it to the thread. Please wash/clean your car!!! Don't leave personal items in/on the car for the photoshoot. Please no more than 4 pictures. A good mix would be front, rear quarter, engine, and interior. Just give us a good idea what you have going on there. If you get picked we might request additional pics from you so be ready.

Failure to follow directions will cause your post to be deleted or your nomination rejected. I don't want to hear the complaints. You have been warned. Rules are subject to change.

Thanks for reading. Let the games begin!!
Dan

I nominate Josh (aka Ptatohed) for MOTM. I believe he deserves MOTM because I feel his Maxima has a good balance of show and go! Many of his mods are extremely rare, and some mods are so unique they can only be found on Josh’s Max. Josh has also contributed to the Maxima community over the years by his insightful posts (when he’s not correcting people’s poor grammar lol) ; and by painstakingly writing the Supercharger Install for Dummies and inventing the Back Seat Fold Up mod (both write-ups can be found on VQpower.com and here in the stickies). Enough babbling, on with Josh’s mods and pics of his cool Maxima!!

I feel I am a solid contributing member to Maxima.org. I also would feel honored to be MOTM, due to the fact that the list of mods above most likely wouldn't exist if it wasn't for me finding this site! And being the owner of an A34, we've had to work hard to get companies to make mods for our cars. And I have been directly involved in helping to develop some of the mods you see available for the 6th gen today...Thanks!!!

(1/26/09, updated a couple of pics. New mods: Bluebat blk roof overlay, hood overlays, 7th gen blk mirrrors)

Imma nominate myself
- The year of my Maxima is 2000 GLE
- The location of my Maxima is in Cali.
- You can reach me via PM
- The mods I've done to my Maxima... (20% tint all around, , roof overlay, SE overlay'ed tails, AE front lip, 5.5gen side skirts, Warpspeed y-pipe, Powertech muffler, D2 coilovers, Work Meister S2R, Kumho tires)
- I feel that my Maxima is MOTM worthy because it's different from everyone else yet very subtle and OEM and not over-obsessively modded. Although my mods are nothing new and very common, but the combination that I put together reflects who I am, which is just to stand out a bit, but not flashy or hey-look-at-my-modded-4door-nissan-sedan type of stuff. I love my Maxima and I wouldn't trade it for any other car (in its year and class).

This was the stock beast from a year and a half ago.

And this is as of December

Additional pictures are available upon request. Thanks!

As I know I did invest a lot of time & effort to make my car look good and unique, also I got a lot of help & Advice of some members.

I am going to nominate Grey99max aka Harold. Grey is over 2000 posts and has been a member since 1/2004 and this would make a perfect 5 year anniversary gift. Grey is not afraid to go against the grain and out of this has invented penty of devices and gadgets for the maxima comminuty. He is currently the 6th fastest maxima and 2nd fastest auto maxima on the org only 2nd to jime who is the fastest maxima over all. the best part is Grey has done this with a real full interior. Harold is always quick to help with his detailed notes and pic's of his builds.

Plus I just think is cool to have a 4-door family sedan that can run 12's with the windows up, a/c on and ZZ top blasting out the trunk

- Car info
- Grey 1999 Maxima
- Location, Topeka, KS
- Contact info, grey99max

I would like to nominate myself..
It is the 7th Maxima i bought...bought it two years ago as a 21st birthday present for myself. The car currently has 146k miles on it with the original 5spd tranny that came with the car but can use a good rebuild. It will be boosted soon the way Hal (hlh) had his blue one or a built 3.5 swap for the boost. Oh an both the front (cloth) seats are Automatic.

Car & Driver

Name - Talha Khan
Car - 1995 Nissan Maxima Se
Trans - Standard (5spd)
Color - Blue
Location - Akron, Ohio
can be reached at "rattlesnake3886@msn.com" or PM'ed here

Performance Mods:
Mevi (middle Eastern Variable Intake)
Exedy Stage II Clutch
12 LB. Flywheel
Unothodox UDP
No A/C Compressor
Injen Cold Air Intake
Warspeed Y-Pipe
Straight Midpipe
Megan Racing 2.5" Cat-Back
Walbro 255lph Fuel Pump
VAFC I
Energy Suspension Motor Mounts
Optima Redtop Battery.

Suspension/Handling:
Tokico Blues Struts and Springs
Drilled and slotted Rotors w/ Ceramic Pads
FD (RX-7) 16"X8" Wheels with Yokohoma Tires
and 15" saw blades for the winter

Others:
5% tints all around
now has www.Maxima.org stickers

Reason why:
I think because of the rare color and the condtition the car is in, shows no signs of rust, engine running super strong at 146k miles so is the tranny...and is capable of running high 13 seconds in a 1/4 mile on street tires. It is a TRUE SLEEPER.

thanks for looking

Talha.

I nominate myself for Maxima of the Month:

Screename - Cinemax
Location - TN
Year Model - 2008 SE-R

Modifications:
800w California Amp
10" JL Audio 10W6 Sub
5" Rear Seat Sub Port
18"x8" Cruiser Alloy Blackhawks
Onyx Painted Roof and Trunk
SE-R Styled Grille
SE-R Trunk Logo
Reprogrammed Computer
Roof Spoiler
LED Tail Lamps
Clear Door Lamps
LED Interior Lamps
LED Trunk Lamp

Why should I be Maxima of the month? Ultimately, I wanted to create the car that Nissan should have. There are SE-R Sentras and Altimas, so it's only fitting that they should have made an SE-R Maxima. I don't have the engine mods like other members (car is still under warranty), so I hope that won't affect people's judgment of my car too badly.

I'd like to nominate Flava_24/7
Car: 1996 Maxima
Location: Austin TX

I think this is one of the best maximas I've seen from any generation. He has done loads of performance work, all top of the line without cutting any corners. On top of that the styling of the car is really amazing. The carbon fiber white contrast with black and carbon fiber interior really looks great. The car is in fabulous shape and I doubt anyone that looked at it would guess its a 96. He has been a member of the org for a long time and really deserves to be MOTM, I'm shocked he hasn't been chosen in the past.

I believe this car should be MOTM because it's come a long way since I bought it bone stock July 08. By November 08 it became what you see today. I've invested a lot of time, money, and effort to make it what it is now, one of the best looking Maximas around. It was used in many projects to help develop aftermarket parts and accessories for our 6th gens, and it continues to be a role model in the custom modifications world. Thank you.

The reason I feel my car should be MOTM is because I believe this is how the 2002-2003 maxima should have looked out of the factory. I wanted to retain the factory look with just the right amount of sleekness. That's why I'm on the factory 17" TE's and that's why I got the (replica) AE rear lip. Retaining that OEM look was key in how I modded ths car.

I'll nominate myself for MOTM...I had been waiting out because I was planning on going boosted, but due to financial reasons, it will not be happening and I am happy with the way the car stands. I believe that I should be MOTM because I think that the car is tastefully modded and not overdone. I get numerous compliments on how good the car looks, considering its age of 10 years. It still drives and looks like a car that is 2 years old.

I have plenty more pictures available, it took me 30 mins to pick these ones. Thanks for the consideration!

- Why MOTM
why MOTM? well, I think I am one of a hand full of people that have done the 3.5 w/forced induction. I did the swap back in the summer of '07 with a buddy of mine helping out and by winter it was boosted. I've turned almost every single bolt on this car and have done all the work myself with the exception of the paint job. I was always a honda guy and still am, but my maxima has brought me into a much better community and has definitely turned my attention to a more alternative platform than the typical run of the mill cars.

Pics!!
here are some pics from a few weeks ago.

most recent shot with the roof spoiler( i'll get better shots if i get picked)

Car: 2001 Grey Lustre Nissan Maxima SE/20th Anniversary Edition. 5MT/Fully loaded.
Contact: PM/Moncef.faik@gmail.com
Location: Iowa

Okay, I’m going to nominate myself. The reason behind this is because I don’t see too many modded AEs on the .Org, especially the way that I modded mine, I feel is unique. Instead of doing rims/tint/drop like many here, I went right ahead and started buying performance parts for it (it’s still a work in progress). The car is 8 years old and looks brand new (minus the bumper chips) and is my daily driver. I’d like to indicate that it’s atypical to have a car like this at my age, while in school but somehow I manage to make payments and mod it.

Engine/Performance:

JWT Popcharger
17* Timing Advance
Exedy Clutch/Fidanza FW
V2OBX headers/Y-pipe
Megan Racing Test Pipe
Cattman Cat-back
AEM UEGO Wideband

Suspension:

Stock (for now)

Wheels:

Stock AE 17s (for now)

Exterior:

Stock AE bumpers and headlights.

Interior/Stereo

Original black leather interior
All the AE stuff (pedals, shifter, etc.)
Paradox gauge rings
Stock BOSE Components
Alpine CDA-9833 HU
Infinity Kappa Perfect 12d VQ subwoofer in 1.6cube ported box
Alpine MRP M500 Amplifier
Rockford 4ga wiring

Pics!

Thanks for your time! I have lots more pics, available upon request.

I cant sit here and write why I feel I deserve it, because I honestly think there's a lot of other nicer Maximas, but I will tell you this:
Maxima.org has really helped me to learn about automotive repair and modifications. I have always been into cars, but never really had anyone or anything to show me. Once I purchased the Maxx, I decided I wanted to start modifying and I vowed to myself that I would do all the work myself, or with the help of someone. Maxima.org really helped me fulfill my goal of not only modifying my car, but also learning everything that I have. After a full year of saving, reading, and studying for the VQ35 swap, I decided to jump into it. With the help of a lot of info on the forums and fellow org members, I completed it.
My Maxima is not only physical proof of what I have accomplished and wanted, but its also a good example of what Maxima.org has to offer to those that really want to learn about modifying their Maximas.

Thank you Maxima.org!

Information/Reason:

Well. Simply put. You will NOT find a 4th Generation Maxima with all original paint and body panels in better shape than mine. You will not. The car is maintained as if it was a show car. Washed and waxed weekly, only the best products used on/in it. Paint feels like glass, even now.

This car sat for 2 years before I bought it on November 6th, 2006 from an older couple. The lady, who was the primary driver, had only used it for grocery's and errands, so even in 2006 the car had just 26,004 miles. However, when I got it, the suspension was rusted to hell and so were the brakes. That is all thanks to Syracuse, NY winters (for those of you who know how those are). I cleaned it all up on the underside, replaced all of the old rusted parts, and re-coated the underbody.

You will not find a better 4th Generation Maxima when it comes to condition and maintenance. The pictures will speak for themselves.

My claim to 'fame' is the cleanliness and condition of my 10yr old car.
