Well, I'm going to post my car for MOTM consideration, considering I am nearing the point where I start to part it out and look for a new ride. Why would I think my maxima is MOTM material? It's driven me 150,000 miles through 18" deep snow, potholed highways, and mountain roads. It's competed in dozens of motorsports competitions. It's hauled over 300lbs of lumber on the roof. It's carried bikes, skis, kayaks, and even a loveseat up top! It brought my new daughter home from the hospital. It has at once been a sportscar, a luxury sedan, a utility vehicle, a track car, and a daily beater. It's been a good car and (I think) has inspired some people here on the org over the years at least....
Since I have no say in picking MOTM, I don't know if it matters that I'm a moderator here anyhow!

Why I should be MOTM: Well I am sorta going for the sympathy vote... but I got this car from my grandma like a year and a half ago... I immediately fell in love with it... Bose! Leather! and MORE! how could you not love it? About two months ago she went into the hospital for a heart checkup and my mom and I took her dinner, about an hour after when we got home, we got a call from my hysterical grandfather and my grandma was having a massive stroke. Two days after we had to take her off of life support and that was it. Now not only am I in love it carries a huge sentimental value now. RIP- Helga Guerney
Thanks and I appreciate you looking and considering.
PICS:

THANKS FOR CONSIDERING!

I'm nominating my car for MOTM because i honestly feel my car defines what it means to be "clean cut". It's simple and the modifications is done in a tasteful manner. I do not think a car needs to be modded out to the max to be considered a work of art. I do however give all the other .org members huge credit for all the modifications they've made on their works of art.
For my taste i feel clean, simple, and classy goes a long way in showing what an import car like the 6th gen maxima can be without going overboard. With the future mods that i have planned i believe it will definitely help illustrate my car as a true example of what a 6th gen Maxima can be to an average person.
Thank you for your consideration.

My Maxima project started in 2003 when I bought my first body kit from Custom Enterprise. I’d spend tons of hours a day looking at cars online and getting ideas, but trying to think of mods that what would set my Max apart from the rest.
The most time spent on the car would have been swapping out the manual ac unit over to a digital climate control and finding all the necessary sensors to make the thermostat work properly. Projects included removing the entire dash for painting, video instructions on how to replace cloth seats for leather...
The most satisfaction comes from knowing I had started with the most basic SE and now ended with a complete luxury sports sedan.

Why Maxima Of the Month?
So far, I've only seen NA 3.5 swaps in the tristate area and boosted 3.0s. I did the swap last summer, drove it NA until March and then threw in the Supercharger for kicks. it's a pretty unique set up in the area I'm in. This is my daily driver and has seen more mods done than my weekend car. The only thing i didnt do myself was the paint job so this car means a lot to me since i've put in all the wrench time myself.
on to the PICS
and the most important.... POWER!

The Reason I think I should be MOTM is because I personally do not think about who is the best of the best around here, I only belive that it really deals with one's imagination, pride and joy. And I have full pride and joy in my Maxima because Everything i have done to it is by far unique to me. Most of the members here, includin me, on the org have once in a time been looked down on because of the simple fact that the car is a "MAXIMA" but when I think in terms of MAXIMA, I think of Power, Personality, Pride and Joy. My Maxima was a hand me down car from my parents in good condition. I worked on it since i was 12 years old.. and through the years of figuring out what this car is and what it does, I finally am rest assured that the 7 years at the drawing board, a few months on the org, and a couple of friend from the org have made my car become to what is it today. But I will be straight up honest now. I AM NOT ASHAMED of my Maxima and the fact that it has a R33 Skyline Body Kit on it. Because it is the simple fact that this is who i am, and this is what I have planned for my car 7 years ago. This Car has brought around many beating and many pains... but you have to admit, after you finish something on a maxima, whether it be changing a knock sensor, or fixing the radiator.. you have that feeling inside knowing that you have acutally accomplished something. Try that with a Honda and I guarantee you WONT have that same feeling like you do with the Maxima. And to me, this is considered a paid off Project car with many more things to come. And Like I said, I AM NOT ASHAMED of my Maxima. And I would like to thank most of you Members out there who have helped me through tough times with my maxima, given me ideas for my car, and helped me with just about anything, and I really appreciate it. And Thanks for reading this. And whoever wins MOTM is congradulated by me GREATLY.

My Ride:
Year & Model: 2002 Maxima SE
Location: New York, USA
Contact Info: bmsack@optonline.net, (PM would be best)
Mods/Work: Replaced rear bumper and fixed trunk lid after getting slammed into, other regular maintenance
My car should be Motm because it has gotten me through lots of bad and scary situations. My 2002 SE has brought me home alive from ice/snow storms, 2 accidents, and even my first real date(lol) Today she officially broke 110,000 miles and is still running strong. I bought this car in hopes to do some modification, but lately my money situation has been tight, especially with my high insurence payments. I would eventually like to repaint her a dark grey, or a metallic black and have the rims follow suite with grey paint and red callipers. I still want to keep my body stock becuase I feel the car looks excellent as is. Though I have the occasional small problem here or there, this car has always been reliable for me and deserves the MOTM title.

Why MOTM:
I believe that my car should be MOTM because it is a very well rounded daily driver that has shown what modifying a nissan is all about. The car has been tastefully modded while maintaining a clean overall appearance on the exterior, interior, as well as under the hood and suspension wise. I have learned many things over the years of working on the maxima from maxima.org and I have been a member here for a long time now and have helped out several other members with write-ups and answering as many questions to be as helpful as i can in the supercharged section of the forums. the car would have never gotten to where it was without the help of this forum and many of its members.

The Car Today:
While I think there are so many deserving Maximas yet to receive this honor, my decision to submit my car for consideration comes by way of a really nice email I received from CarDomain this evening.
The email was to notify me of the following: "Your 1992 Nissan Maxima is ranked 6 out of 7967 and has been viewed 19056 times." The email went on to list members who voted my car their favorite.
I couldn't believe it to be honest. I certainly think there are more than 5 nicer Maximas than mine out there, but for what it's worth it still felt great to receive that notice. Especially for a 3rd Generation Maxima owner.
I've had a couple of firsts that I'm quite proud of, including a full VG auto to VE manual engine swap. And recently, my fabrication of a Nissan consult port that didn't exist, which will allow me to laptop tune the car.
I've also received hundreds of emails concerning my clear corner lamps.
In the 13 years I have owned this car, and my nearly 8 years on Maxima.org, we've truly come a long way together. Both mechanically, and if you'll forgive the drama, emotionally as well.
A visit to my CarDomain page explains the unique relationship I have with this car. I feel it saved my life one day about 10 years ago. And though the insurance company informed me my Maxima would be crushed, I begged them to reconsider.
Both the car and myself have grown considerably ever since.
I'd be most proud to wear the badge of MOTM.

some nice cars out here...but let me give you guys a few tips since i don't think people are really looking at the first post anymore.
- i don't care if it's stock, turbo, sc, dented...YOU ALL CAN POST HERE. for the ones that post comments about the cars that's not up to your standards...last i check YOU don't pick the MOTM right?
- Pics...i need good pics guys. it would help if you washed/cleaned the car before you do a photo shoot. you don't need to get a glamor shot for your car but a clear pic would also be great. blurry cell phone pics won't cut it. i rather pick a car that has clear and clean pics that's stock than a car that's modded with blurry crappy pics. clean up your personal items in the car. don't leave your sunglasses, wallet, taco bell receipt, lead pipe, shotgun for the pics. move that stuff out before taking the pics.
keep the nominations coming in. don't be discourage, keep participating on the forum. your day to be MOTM will come. at the end of the year the nominations thread will be cleared out and it will start over in 2009.
Dan

I nominate Josh (aka Ptatohed) for MOTM. I believe he deserves MOTM because I feel his Maxima has a good balance of show and go! Many of his mods are extremely rare, and some mods are so unique they can only be found on Josh’s Max. Josh has also contributed to the Maxima community over the years by his insightful posts (when he’s not correcting people’s poor grammar lol) ; and by painstakingly writing the Supercharger Install for Dummies and inventing the Back Seat Fold Up mod (both write-ups can be found on VQpower.com and here in the stickies). Enough babbling, on with Josh’s mods and pics of his cool Maxima!!
