Maxima in China?

Hi,

I have recently relocated to Shanghai China and I am wondering how difficult it is to ship my old reliable 98 Maxima to China from USA. As part of the perks with my new job, the company will pay for license plate/registration and monthly gas but I have to either buy a car locally or ship it from home. I'd choose my Max over Chinese made new car anytime.

Also, are they Maxima here in China? do they call it a different name? Should be able to find parts here in the part of the world, right? Anyone?

Thanks.

Ken

do you mean MEVI (middle east variable intake) answer: probably yes.

the only problem I see with the maximas in china, is the amout of people that will be touching your car as you drive by the city. one more thing, isn't the maxima a very big car compared to most car driven around shanghai, would have a maxima be hard to find parking places and driving around the city?

why don't you buy a car in china that is small, cheap, relaible, and powerfull.

Example: Nissan Skyline no serious buy a small honda, or toyota, and save your maxima from being destroyed.

BTW US is one of the only coutrieswhere pedestrians are respected, mostly any other country, if you are walking across a street and is not paying much attention, you will most likely DIE. reason I said that, you will damage your maxima

sorry but I have no idea of how to bring your maxima to china.

There aren't that many 'China-made' cars anyway...
Closest thing you'll be able to find to an USDM Nissan Maxima is the Infiniti Cefiro. It's the same motor, exhaust etc. The bodyof the Cefiro closely resembles the USDM Infiniti i30.

Cool man, I have been to China 2 times to get my daughters. Never saw a Maxima/ciefro. Lexus BMW Mercedes, lots of VW and the Chinese Buicks.
The car should fit nicely in a 20 foot standard shipping container. I just used DHX to ship a container to Singapore and I think they go to China. Good price great company. From seattle it is about 3 weeks on the boat.
I will get you the number when i get to the office tomorrow.
I want to get some more guitars out of China. I loved that country and i would go back in a second.

its probably easier to get a driver and have the company get you a car, driving there is crazy

you might be able to find a Cefiro, but Chinese arent too fond of Japanese cars there, its all about American and German there, they still have some hard feelings over the Japanese in WWII
