Ok, was looking for something unrelated on Trademe.co.nz just before and thought I'd check out what Maxima's were up for sale when I saw this, http://www.trademe.co.nz/structure/l...on-9675606.htm
I've never heard of the Maxima SMX, is this for real? Did Nissan NZ actually make a special sports model or is it just someone trying to make a quick buck?
This is what the seller emailed me about it, looks like Nissan NZ did do a limited edition Maxima, heh

Hey guys, i remember hearing the story a few years ago from a dealer who worked for nissan. I'm a bit rusty on the details, but i remember him saying that they got a few maxima's and added the kits etc to them at the dealership, then badged them 'SMX' which i think is a combo of letters from the guys that did it. They were then sold new

I saw several of these in the NZ Trader. I found this one and it has good pics of the SMX plate.
