Serpentine belt replacement question on 2000 I30
Does the idler pulley really have to come off? I've looked at both AlldataDIY (have a subscription) and the Maxima FSM's and neither outline a specific procedure; only thing they show is just this image.

You do not take idler pulley off. You only have to loosen it.

Agree, it doesn't have to come off. I just changed mine a few weeks ago.

First you loosen the bolt in the center of the idler pulley, then you turn the adjusting screw.
