Well it's time to do some much needed maintenance on the i30t. She's has an oil leak, that stains the driveway pretty bad, for quite a while now. I finally took the time and got under the hood and under the car to degrease everything and find out where it's coming from. Both valve covers are leaking, more so from the rear. So I'm taking it to my mechanic next week to have that done as well as spark plugs and clean the IACV. I also got a good deal on the front motor mount so I'm having them put that in too. My question is, can you guys think of anything else I should have done while everything is taken apart? The car runs like a top other than the leak. I'm having the motor mount done because I have noticed it likes to bang into gear occasionally when making a turn and accelerating at the same time. And I figured since these cars are known for motor mount issues, why not...
So let me know if you think there is anything else I should have them replace. Thanks!

PCV and check vacuum lines. Clean your TB.
Probably a good time to replace your fuel filter as well.

Mine has a bad oil pan so that might be another one to look out for

Check the belts for the power steering and alternator, if they are the originals, they're due to be replaced.

Well we finally had the car serviced last week! Had the valve cover gaskets, spark plugs, and the front motor mount. The car jerked when going into reverse, and sure enough, the front motor mount was shot. I can definitely tell the difference now. Much smoother idle as well. Not that it was bad, you just get use to the car's quirks as it slowly degraded. But all is well now and NO LEAKS! Let's cross our fingers and hope for another trouble free 75k miles.

I gotta get some of that done on my car. My gas mileage has been pretty bad lately, and I don't think I can attribute it to just my driving style. Spark plugs don't even have 60k on them but they're almost 15 years old so they're probably past their prime. I also have a whining noise (think supercharger) that none of the techs at my job can hear. Power steerings fluid was low a few weeks ago so I'm wondering if my PS pump is leaking/shot.

I had my shop save all the old parts and the spark plugs looked a little worn, but nothing crazy like oil build up or anything. Since she runs 87 gas, I figured they would be worse since the recommended is 93 (or premium equivalent).
