LED Strip Lights (Pics)

Bought some White LED strip lights off ebay for $10 bucks. Looks great guys. Should of been like this from the factory. Now you can finally see when getting in the car. Have them hooked up to the dome light wires in the A pillar on the Drivers Side. RED is negative Red/Green is Positive.

And one more, I got 35% tint all around. (Kinda Dark out so hard to tell)

Nice job! I have mine tapped into the outlet. They light up when I turn the key to the on position and stay on unless the car's turned off.

Thanks! I happy it turned out the way it did. I wanted to match the rest of the led bulbs i have swap'd out in the car. Its a identical match. Looks like it came that way. Here's a link for what I used.

That actually looks nice, I think u connecting them to the dome light was a good idea. So do they turn on when u turn on the dome light with the door closed as well?...

No, they only work when you open and close the doors.

That's really clean man! Was the install hard, if so can you do a short write up on it? I'd appreciate it a lot

I'm working on a similar project, but doing it from scratch to get my desired result. I want the dome light and interior lights connected so that they're always on dim but when the door opens they'll brighten up. I'm going to use a combination of diodes and resistors for this, problem is finding the wires from the dome light....could you post a pic of where they're located?

Don't have pics. But, I'll try and explain....if your sitting in the drivers seat the pillar that runs alongside the window. (the panel that holds the tweeter) pop that off and behind that you will see a bundle of wires running from the dash to the roof. Inside this bundle you will find the wires I quoted in the OP.

I used velcro double tape to hold the strips, but it suck.
In Florida whether, they came off after about month of use. And I used them under glove box and under steering wheel, so no direct sunlight.
My advice is to use zip cables, especially if the led tubes have individual bubls sticking out. That way you can put zip tie between those little bulbs

Just use 3M double stick. It wont come off. Use the stuff that is used for side moulding.

LED under front console area.

Im looking on doing the same thing with the LED strip under the front console area. I bought these and used one of the white LED strips to light up my license plate in the rear but they arent as bright as I expected them to be. If you want bright dont get these.http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...=STRK:MEWNX:IT

I have two blue strips for the front but im not going to use them because they aren't bright enough so if some one wants these I'll sell them for 5 bucks for both. send me a pm if interested.

Im going to wire my LED strips from the ignition power with a micro switch, this way I can turn them on as I please.

Im looking into these. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...#ht_4853wt_905 but in blue. Hopefully they are bright enough cause pics are deceiving.

Mine look something like these.....But, I bought them from someone in the states. (Faster Shipping! )

http://cgi.ebay.com/Flexible-White-3...item41581e72cd

They were ten bucks for the pair. They work great (as you can see in the pics) Since I have posted this, I also did the back seat floor wells as well. Everything works great! No problems.

The ones in your link look exactly like the ones I bought but mine don't look as bright. I guess the MCD rating of your strips are higher than mine.

Yeah buying from the USA will definitely be faster shipping but I wasn't in a hurry plus you can't beat paying 1 dollar for an LED strip.

Hey, did you use those 60cm? I thought you used shorter. Also, do you have pics for your rear seat lights setup?

Looks pretty cool. The LEDs I used are now getting bad. They start blink once in awhile. I tried to mount them underseat too, but the cloth can't hold double tape, so I guess I'll add superglue too. Can you give me direct link to ebay to the leds you brought from USA?

I posted two links, one that you shouldn't buy because they aren't bright enough and the second, a set that Im trying out and haven't received from the seller. I'll post results once I get them installed.

maxprivate,
I had the ones you waiting for (at least they look alike), they are really bright, but quality is really bad. Right now about half of the bulbs is blinking whenever they work. I have total four installed and the two in front are blinking. I am thinking about getting may be streetglow or something with better quality.

This is exactly what i used guys. 4 strips, one for each footwell. They work great! I have had no problems..I believe they are 30cm = 12 inches.

Thanks a lot for the link. Did you just used the sticker attached to the strip? or used different double tape?

Thats one thing i was disappointed with in the car....no lights around the feet area. I was planning on doing this except doing it under the front seats as well so the back seat feet portion lighs up as well.

I dont know what to tell ya? Mine are white. I guess they have a purplish hue to them. But, it's faint. They work great though. No flickering lights.
