Correcting beam pattern on ebay cefiro headlights

So I got the clear/chrome one-piece cefiro headlights off ebay ( i know, i know...) and I immediately noticed that the design of the reflector, oddly enough, completely eclipsed the front of the bulb... well I installed them anyway and when I checked the beam pattern at night, sure enough, it was terrible. So now I am brainstorming ways to correct this issue... I know most people usually go for a projector retrofit with these, and I could go that route, but I would rather start small (cheap) and bore a hole through the center reflector with my trusty drill. Anyone care to contribute some advice?

The only way to correct that beam pattern is to retrofit.

Depending on what brand headlights you purchased... "Eagle Eye, Depo, or TYC, or other brands"....

The beam pattern shouldn't be too bad (for one-piece Cefiro's) anyway.
With H-4 (9003) bulbs, the beam pattern would not be too bad.... however, if you put in HID directly to 'em one-piece headlight, then yeah.. it would suck.. Or if you put 9004 bulbs into the H-4 housing.. haha...

Okay, just to give you a heads up....
If you see a little high beam icon dimmerly shown on the dash.. then.. you will definitely need to look into the wiring. That means, you may have connected the wires wrong... converting from 9004 to H-4.....
Check the ground wire to ground... high beam to high beam.. and low beam to low beam..

The only draw backs of purchasing aftermarket One-Piece headlights are

1. The beam pattern may NOT be consistant (bad reflector housing).
2. The adjusting knobs to adjust up-down and left right of the headlight reflectors may not be working properly
3. Water proof may not be the best.... make sure you check the rubber piece that seals the back of the headlight once a while.. .if you see moist or water in the housing.. don't be surprised...

Good luck.. post here.. or email me if you have any more questions

Regards,

I have mis-matched projectors 1 is from a Kia Optima and the other from a new Xb. If you want either or both I will sell them to you cheap. I'll give you both for $35 shipped? The Kia one is still in the headlight and all.

Thanks for your input guys!
burgy... I appreciate the offer! I don't know if I'm going to undertake the project though, would rather get off with minimal hassle at this point... but what else would I need for those projectors to work, just the projectors and the ignitor modules, right? and are you including those?
Sy... I got the Eagle Eye Clear/Chromes, and I'm embarassed to admit it, but I DID in fact reuse the 9004 bulbs lol I figured it couldn't hurt any... I guess I have to splice in a connector for an H4 bulb then...

There you go... put in H-4 bulb should resolve things a bit.
Splicing the connector is not too hard.. do a search on google or on Maxima.org

I posted this in another thread but it might fix your problem? I hope? These lights are APPARENTLY compatible with the HID bulbs, as for the truth of it i have no idea. Anyone know?
