Hello, I used to be one of those guilty of sticking hid capsules into a stock housing. I did like the light output and color but hated how it blinded the **** out of others.
I recently purchased some aftermarket cefiro headlights for the sole purpose of doing a retrofit. They are e46 bi-xenon projectors with an ebay shroud. I also made a custom harness to power these bad boys.
Here are the pictures. These were takes with a phone camera I know that it could be better but beats blinding everyone. I thought that they would be ugly but I kinda like them. I painted the reflector black to reduce glare but that wasn't needed as light barely hit them.

-License plate light assembly ($10).

Thanks for the comments guys. Odd as hell how this works. First light took probably 4-5 hours of total work not including drying and wait periods. The second took approximately 1 hour and looks better.

this is great work, if you don't mind me asking where did you get the projectors? is there a tutorial on how to do this?
I have a one piece head light in my I30 and I hate the light output - and this just looks amazing.
If you could put together a small how-to you'd be the man.
thx

Taking apart the headlights were very simple. I removed the one screw by the parking lights area and the little metal clips. I then put it in a 300°F preheated oven then turned it off and let the light sit for 8 mintues. Prying apart was simple from there.
I then followed this guide even though they are different cars, the basic concept is very similar.
looks great, BUT having just that section blacked out looks really funny. blackout the cornerlamp section as well to even it out.
i agree.. it looks much better when the headlight looks as if it is one piece.. being chrome and black almost makes it a 2 piece again.. but that is a very nice retro you have.. super clean!
