Just excited because after a year of searching and debating I finally said *~@$% it I'm buying something.
Original choice was 19" G-Games Barracuda in gunmetal, then figured 19s would be too harsh on NJ streets. Next thought moved onto 350Z anniversary edition (5 spoke) wheels, then Mille Miglia 5 or Sport Edition KV5. Then found out 19" Nismo wheels for the A34 were only $550 shipped but still thought 5Zigen Gravis looks better and it goes on and on...
For now I'll just say they are 18", forged, and to wrapped in 245/40/18 Continental Contisportcontact 3 aka I'm fubared in the cold and snow but no matter as my DD isn't driven until the weekend anyways. NJ public transit FTW!
Do you think the SE-R wheels would look good on an I35?
And correct on the second guess!
I think SE-R wheels would look terrible...but I wasn't going to say anything...just in case
But good choice on the track wheels, I think they'll look incredible. I think the best aspect of that choice, aside from them being light (forged), is that the offsets will be damn near perfect, and you won't need to run spacers to get the right look.

Yep, my thoughts exactly on the track wheels, light + strong + no spacers + good looks. Although I hope the good looks part is still shared after I'm done altering them lol
RAYS engineering FTW!!! congrats and cant wait to see them on the car..and i saw the thread about the 550 nismo wheels on nycmaximas and i really wish i have some cash bcus those are a steal.

And does anyone know what Infiniti center caps will fit?
I'd start with some G35 coupe 18" centers and see if they're a go. Considering EVERYONE with a nissan wants and has those wheels, they shouldn't be too hard to come by.

2002 Infiniti I35 Sport
Received them last night, pic will follow after work haha. One wheel was in mint condition, 2 had 35% rash on the lip, one had 100% rash. To DIY fix curb rash you'll need the following, again pics will come later.
- scrap towel
- paint thinner/acetone/rubbing alcohol whichever you have on hand
- 240 -420 grit sand paper, to keep my sanding steady I bought a 3M 340 sand block
- 3M Bondo spot putty
- Masking tape of choice
- Duplicolor or equivalent FILLER primer spray can
- Duplicolor or equivalent silver wheel paint (depends on if you are matching or new lip)
- Duplicolor or equivalent wheel clear coat
- and for me Duplicolor T299 Dark Shadow gray for the spokes
1. Clean the rash with your towel and dangerous chemical of choice - really scrub into it as most rash is extremely dirty from grease, brake dust...etc
2. After cleaning spread the bondo putty over the rash, no need to cover in one setting, I'm doing light coats and sanding in between to achieve smooth finish
3. Once happy with the bondo filled in and sanded smooth spray area with filler primer to achieve smoother and paintable surface
4. Mask off area you do not want to paint (i.e. matching OEM paint in an area only), I am going to just re-paint the whole lip
5*. Once lip is painted, spokes will be masked so I can paint to gunmetal
6. Once all painting is done and happy with, spray on clear coat and wait for it to cure
*my to-be wheel lip will match my silver calipers and gunmetal spokes will match the painted hubs on my rotors, anyone see what I did there?
**Obviously follow instructions for the primer, paint, clear...etc for dry time

1) looks like you used way to much hardener which causes the filler to be weak.
2) filler does not have good adhesion unless applied to bare metal. doesn't look like you pulled the paint back prior to application.
kudos for the diy but i would check to make sure the filler is going to be durable enough before you bother painting them. my guess is that filler will come off with your fingernail.

Didn't use hardener, only the putty. The cleaned curb rash is technically bare metal
Did some sanding today and the putty is holding up well as expected, need to work on more coats for the heavier curbed areas but all should be good for paint soon!
You're such a tease. When's the final results gonna be posted?
not really a tease more real life progress, today was day off so I was able to get some work done.
Have the following left to do:
- clear coat the mint wheel as its paint is done
- paint lip on the second wheel with center completed then clear coat
- paint center and lip and clear coat on last 2 wheels
ETA this weekend I'll have the wheels mounted and balanced!
Yep! I had the idea in my head for a loooong time, I was going to do the above to the 5Zigen Gravis wheels as well. Then I saw the pic above I knew I was going through wit it
Powdercoating would have saved alot of time and trouble.
True but I wanted an exact paint match to my headlight, fog lights, and rotor hubs. My "local" powder coater is like 50 miles away and charges $80/wheel...I wasn't about to waste another $320 when I can DIY with $8 spray cans!
