Actually they are not legal, because after installation they leave the front end of your car without any amber REFLECTIVE area. Just installing amber bulbs will not suffice. If you look at every car sold in America in the last 40 years or so, there is an amber reflective something on the front end SIDE of the car. This is so that traffic headlamps traveling perpendicular to you will illuminate them, without bulbs burning in them.

All that said, it doesn't bother me. I have them in my I30, and I think they look great. I just keep the other traffic violations to a minimum, since you rarely get ticketed for just this. It is usually combined with another offense or two. And an attitude toward the cop doesn't seem to help either.

wow... never heard that before but i checked it out and its true. with the cefiro one piece lights there is actually no reflectors period so theres really nothing you could do to make them legal short of adding them.

i doubt you'd ever get pulled over for it.

*edit - actually the lights themselves are legal since the law only states that reflectors are required on the front or sides near the front. take the maxima for example; clear lights but amber bumper reflectors. either way though, reflectorswould need to be added somewhere.

i dont know if having an amber bulb on all the time would eliminate the need for an amber reflector.

No, it won't.

I'm not saying that the reflector is necessary, or better or anything like that. Just stating that the car is designed to have amber reflectors on the front corners just like every other car sold in North America. No I don't have them and could care less. Hopefully I will never run across an anal cop who does care though.
