Temp. display on I30

I just want to know if any 2000-2001 i30s came equipped with temp. display in the rear view mirror. The same spot as the compass. I'm asking because when the key is turned to the ON position I see this...

Sorry for the cell phone quality, but on the LCD, it displays 100 as you could probably see. And the two blobs next to it are degrees F and C. So obviously it was designed for both a compass and temp. display.

I did a quick search through the PDF service manual I have and I didn't find any mention of a temp. display. The only conclusion I have for this is that nissan probably used this mirror in another vehicle that also had a temp display, but just omitted it from the I30 for some reason.

Our cars use Gentex mirrors, which have the ability to display compass direction and temperature. In our cars it's just used to display direction. We have ambient temp readouts elsewhere.

My 2000 I30 doesn't have any of this in the mirror! Did all 2000 I30 come with a mirror compass? If so, I want a refund!

Makes sense. Thanks. The I30s never came with any temperature readouts though. Only i35s and 5.5 gen + maximas.

Ya! I noticed the same thing a while back. I think it has the ability to display other things, but ours only do compass. It would be cool if spit lotto numbers or something.
