Potential Problem

Okay, so my wife had the car today and when she returned the:

Check Engine Soon
SLIP
TCS

light came on she said it came on as soon as she exited the highway and turned the overdrive off. When I turn the car off and on the SLIP and TCS light come off but turn back on minutes later. Do anyone of you guys/ladies know what the problem could be?

Thanks in advance

Go to Autozone and have them run the codes for the engine light.

I'm guessing bad MAF, or O2 sensor.

I'm almost 100% sure that your coil packs are bad. I have the same problem and I just ordered new ones yesterday. Expect to pay about $300 for all 6, or if you have more time than money you can test and replace only the bad one(s). Look at the 5th gen forum for a write-up.

The TCS and SLIP lights being on usually indicate an issue with the TCS system. Why would they indicate failed coil packs?

I know the symptoms don't seem to point towards the coils being bad, but it is actually a VERY common problem with Maxima's and I30's. Read this thread for more info:
