Ses p0445/1448
Had the I35 at the dealer for other work and they checked the SES code. Told me @ $700. I told them it has been on for 70k miles and not hurting anything.
Well, if I need to sell the car, I'd like to get rid of the SES light. I was wondering if anyone has tried to short out or open the circuit that causes the P0445/P1448 errors codes.

P1448 is the EVAP Canister Vent Control Valve. This valve is bolted on the EVAP canister. It is a solenoid that moves a plunder back and forth to open or close an air passage. These valves will get gummed up and the plunger doesn't move. Many times (but not always) you can spray WD40 in the valve and free up the plunger. Depends on how bad it is.
The P0445 is the EVAP Canister Purge Volume Control Solenoid Valve. It is on top of the engine. Click on this link and go to page 24. Look along the top of the drawing, just a little right of the center. http://boredmder.com/FSMs/Infiniti/I35/2002/EC.pdf
There are 2 vacuum hoses on this solenoid valve. Make sure that they haven't fallen off. If it is truly bad, you will have to replace it. But fix the P1448 problem first and this one might go away.

Thanks for the info but other posts on the errors code place the valves on the drivers side back by the gas tank...I sure like replacing or repairing the EVAP valve/solenoid in the engine. Have you tried to replace? Any idea of the cost?

The P1448 EVAP Canister Vent Control Valve is bolted on the EVAP canister, which is behind the driver's side rear wheel.
Are you saying that the P0445 EVAP Canister Purge Volume Control Solenoid Valve is claimed to be in back also? The Infiniti service manual says it is mounted on the engine. I have never had to deal with this error, so I'm going by what is in the service manual.
The only thing would be is that I got the wrong valve name for the P0445. But if you look at page 368 of the manual in the link I posted above, it says DTC P0444, P0445 EVAP CANISTER PURGE VOLUME CONTROL SOLENOID VALVE.
I admit your last post has me confused.
I don't know what the prices would be.
