^^I wouldn't do that Tokicos are popular and most likely are fake if they are on ebay for a ridiculous price, just buy legit, I got my setup at Shox.com for a decent price

I was thinking of getting the Truax SFCs too. But what is recommended for a 99 i30t? When I looked on Shox.com after hearing of Tokico Illuminas and Eibach Pro kits and H&R etc etc, only one thing popped up for a 99 i30t and those were Koni Struts. Can illuminas and eibachs not fit on my car?

Technically the S-Techs are incredibly soft (very low spring rates). But because they drop so low you have no suspension travel and are constantly riding on the bumpstops.

I had those springs years ago and got rid of 'em pretty quick.

ooooooo, I see. I have just been told the other way around. What would you think would be better with near the same drop?

Dropping that low? You really need something like a ride-height adjustable coilover to maintain suspension travel. Something like Boss Chens, Tein SS, D2, K-Sports, etc.

If you just wanted springs, you'd need some REALLY stiff to compensate for that much loss in suspension travel. And all the springs I know of for the A33 either don't drop that low or aren't that stiff.

hey guys,
I just did the same thing couple of weeks ago. As of now I did not notice the need for an alignment. Shouldn't the drop be still in stock specs now? I guess i'll have to cough up the cash for that now. GRR oh and here is a pic, but I think it settled more since then!
unfortunately it is kind of hard to see because of the shade. Maybe i'll take some more pics. What do you guys think?

You pretty much need an alignment every time you change something in the suspension. Every time I've done suspension work and gotten an alignment my toe settings have been off.

alright, i have a coupon for a 4 wheel alignment for 55 bucks from a family owned shop around here. Unfortunately i blew a tire and had to re order it from discount. It's the second nail in 2 weeks! Horrible!

has anyone tried these shocks and springs:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/TOKIC...ht_2446wt_1165
Are they good in terms of the ride as what n3985 was saying? or are the eibach springs better?

Have had the Tokico Illumnas for ~ 3 years now Keep the back set at three (pain to get to) and the fronts from 1-5 depending on the season and if I feel like pushing it.

Keep a small screwdriver in the glove box to change the front - 2 mins and done.

No noticeable fade and 5 helps best in summer and 1 best in winter (potholes) and when car is loaded.
