Is this tranny problem or brake switch?

Hey all,
I have a 2000 I30 with about 85,000 miles with an automatic transmission. I have recently noticed that when i go to put the cqar in park, it is getting increasingly harder to do, so i have to put some pressure on it to do it. And when i went to start it, i had to push it into park again so i could get the ignition to engage. My girl's honda just had the "brake switch" replaced cause she said her's was kind of doing that as well. Does that sound like the problem? I have no other problems with the tranny.
Thanks,
Mike

The bushing underneath the shift rod is likely failing. I've had this happen on my old Maxima. Look in to replacing your shift bushing.
