I may be getting rid of the Infinitarrr :(
Soooo....my buddy happens to be selling his 1997 acura integra turbo. For 8 grand. It has about 15 grand in it including body kit, rims, clutch, flywheel, built motor, turbo set up, the whole nine yards. I don't know what to do. Either keep putting money into the Infinitarrr or buy the Acura and have the i30 has my Grocery Getter/beater.
Heres a couple of pictures. The fastest it's ever ran at the track would be a 13.67 at 110. with a 2.35 60'
Should I buy the car or not guys. Let me know what your opinions are.

I would advise against it. Keep the infinity.... The acura sounds like it has a quite a bit of work but..... it's ricey. I've got a mustang for sale that's run that on street tires for exactly half the price and it's in great condition

that body kit fits like sh*t for starters... it's not a bad or ugly car.. but it's still a sedan.. I mean.. if you want something faster (obviously you do) then get a sports car or at least a coupe of some sort. You have to take into account the reliability also. This car has been messed around with obviously.. who knows if the upgrades have been done correctly with all the supporting mods needed. It might be that the owner just slapped on a turbo kit and an ebay front mount. This could easily be a huge money pit.. On top of that.. what's already been said above.. currently the car does't look too ricey.. but there are soooo many riced out integras out there that the car just has that stigma.

I know the work that's been done to it. I have the whole list of what the motor was built with. They run the same motor in there 9 second drag car that the company produces. If you want I can list everything thats done to it. IF I get it i plan on putting the stock body back on. Do a coilover set up. get a smaller intercooler to help with the boost lag. get different clamps for the intercooler piping. Just small things. EVerything else has already been done. I'm not just looking for a fast car i'm looking for a car thats reliable. The onlyy way i can start my car now is if i roll it down my driveay and pop the clutch. I want a car that i know when i go to it it will start on the first crank. It's still up in the air right now.

its not about whats been done to the car. its about who did it, did they do it right, and how has it been treated since. even then, that car will never be more reliable. if you do decide to buy it though do a type r front end conversion. always wanted a type r sedan when i was younger. but for 8k you could do your i30 to be prettier, faster, and more reliable.

I know the company I went there personally and saw how they did work and the cars they have done work on before. How often can you come across a 300 whp car and still get 35 mpg? I know my infinitarr i spent alot of time on it and sleepless nights to make it that much better but i've had it for almost 4 years now and i want a new car/toy. I'm kind of embarassed when I go to gas stations to fill up when my car backfires. Makes me wish that my car DIDN'T have 150k on it. I have to keep dumping money into the i30 to keep it running or running in a good condition. I may keep the infintarr and buy the Teggy and use the infiniti on rainy and snowy days. So it'll be like my weekend toy.

Here's my .02. That particular Teg looks like crap to me. It's a sedan, and that kit, while subjective, looks and seems to fit horrible. You have a better looking sedan right now. Unlike most Honda motors, yours stock has more torque than HP. That's a great start, and there are forced induction kits made for your current application. Or do a VQ35 swap. Or do like I did, get a sports car and keep the I. Whatever YOU want the most....

The motor swap came into question after I swapped the 5 spd in. My dad thought i wasn't be able to do it but i knew my capabilities. I told him about the motor swap. He didn't like the idea. If i was to buy the teggy the very first thing i would would return the bumpers to stock and take off the side skirts and add a coil over set up. It's still up in the air the dudes dad is asking for 15k now becuase he wants the money back for what he put into it. The car is only worth 4k. So 9k is more than generous.

Sounds like you want it, so get it. If you do swap the front bumper, make sure there is proper air flow to the intercooler.

honestly. trade it in. i have 166K on my i30, and its getting to be a major hassle. i've always thought about doing a swap, but i think i need a change.
have you explored any other cars that you would want?
you could always buy a dirt cheap hatch, and do a b18c1, c5 or even a k20 swap with the money you have.

If it was a Type R Integra, then my answer would be "Yes."
Of all the regular Integras, the 1995 was the best year, and having bought two of them, I would agree.
BUT, it's like apples and oranges here comparing the Infiniti and the Integra. My SO has one of the two 95 Integras, and my daughter has the other one. I'd rather ride in my I30 than in the Integras...especially for long trips.

if i was you, instead of buying an integra, which will cost you 9 grand (depending on how negotiations go), you can just vq swap your car and you'd be good to go. oh, and put coilovers on if you wish. fully bolted w/ tune you would get better numbers than 13.67.
but in the end, its really about how much money you want to put in cars that are not worth too much.

God, if you are getting a new car get something RWD like a s14 or a s13, then take your money and do a SR20 swap. If you want to stay FWD well then I hate to say it but 13.6 isnt shiz in the 1/4 mile for all the money he has into that integra. I was running 13.9 in my 5th gen with only a 75shot, now im running a 125 and I could kill that integra. My point is if you are sticking with FWD then less money into you car will get you more power then that integra is making. Shiz, I would think about selling you my car for $10,500 and mine was built by unnatural inc.
Do some research then drop that cash on something sweet like....

God the bandwagon continues...don't listen to this guy, mad tyte JDM blood runs in him
Wish I could rewind to the good old days when i had my s13, just before the trend exploded...those were the days...
Theres nothing wrong with Honda/Acura, they are solid, reliable cars if done right, more so than Nissan would ever be (gasp). If anyone attempts to question their technology and reliability, they are just ignorant...
HOWEVER, I wouldn't touch that car with a ten foot pole as they say, don't ever buy a heavily modded car, even if its from a good friend...you're just asking for a headache...
