Here's a hint, see what has common ground or a switched ground. Also, since i'm a nice guy, EVERYTHING except the folding function can be tapped in the SECU. That's all the help i'm going to give. I have the exact pins that you need to tap but since this thread has lasted ~2 years, you guys need to figure out how to read a wiring diagram.
That actually does sound like a "dik" statement. if you know how to wire them then why not just help the poor guy instead of giving "hints"?
and you dont need to tap the SECU at all, although it is an option. i have these installed over a year now. wired them myself, puddles come on when any door opens. siganals are functional as well as full power mirror and fold.
the downside is i never was able to find any write-up on them and never did one myself so i wouldnt know where to start without ripping into my doors. point is its do-able without tapping the SECU unless you want to spend the time. and have a clue what you are looking at!
Actually if memory serves the blinkers are tapped at the heads. power for the fold is tapped from front cig lighter. and puddles tapped at the door light located on the door panel. about a 4 hour job if that. hardest part is fishing the extra wires for fold and puddles through the door to the cabin/engine bay.

here we go...

sure it's doable without going to the SECU. My point is instead of running wires all over your car, wouldnt it be easier to run them to central spot? Running stuff to the cigarette lighter, sure you can do that, but you have so many other more "correct" options than that.

You really ran the blinkers all the way up to the headlights? wow... Wouldn't you think the signal cables are somewhere IN the car? Did you check in the steering column or anything?

I already gave enough info in the other post, if you dont learn and stuff is always given to you, how are you going to get any smarter?

Instead of arguing, why not actually help people out? Don't want to waste countless keystrokes explaining? You're doing that already.

I understand where vastmax is coming from, many people ask for step by step instructions rather than searching the topic and learning themselves. However, this topic is not something as commonly discussed or easy DIY like "how do I install an intake, change brake pad, retrofit my headlights...".

Most casual modders like me know what an FSM is, but don't know technical details to completely understand it (like the pic I posted on page 2, it's all Greek to me). Therefore in the interest of contributing to the community I would appreciate it if anyone would simply post the pins to tap in the SECU.

(I personally want the wire for the dome light so I may add a relay to it and when I unlock it'll turn on my angel eyes and possible LED puddle lights.)

What I did on mine was this: It's not ghetto but it works.

Puddle lights...I just ran the ground and positive wire straight to the puddle light. Running it to the Door lights will not do anything but turn on when your doors are open. This won't give you the puddle light effect when you unlock your doors. KEY: you must run BOTH + and - wires

Exactly, which is why I need the dome light wire so the puddle lights turn on and off with it, rather than when I open the doors. Not too worried about finding a place for the - wire, but that + trigger I need is essential.

this is what i meant by my original post. the dome light uses a switch ground. in other words, it has a constant 12v, the ground wire is what switches it on and off. that's why you need to run both positive and negative.

That's what I meant, just run both wires UP to the dome light. it'll get the job done and is not very hard to run at all. Run it up the side pillars, then over by the dome light. Around the sunroof to the dome light.

Is there a way to wire it so that when you lock the car the mirrors fold up, and fold out when you unlock the car? Or do they already do that automatically?

Mod is awesome, but imagine remote control mirrors! How frickin' cool - but pointless - but really cool would that be!!??
