pics of my headlight after clearing and paint

hey thought id share a pic of the I35 with cleared out and black housing headlights. i asked for a pic request before i did this but no one put any up so i'll share mine. this was very easy to do i used a heat gun to open the headlight. the longest part of this mod is painting then letting it dry between coats i have about 10 light coats on these ones

before:

after:

the car is lowered on H&R springs
and 20% tint sides and back
every light bulb on and in the car changed to Mtec bulbs
rims are on the way

+1 for effort, but I wouldn't do it to mine unless I have projectors with chrome rings (or even better, angel eyes!), only then will the black housing make it shine.

Good job though, just not my taste.

Looks very nice. I especially like them with your black car.

It took me a long time to get up the nerve to paint mine (I dont have a black car), but it definitely made for a more sporty look. I used a sattin black with some flake in it. It matches the gunmetal grille very well.

I was so pleased with it that I painted my fog surrounds sa well when I installed my yellow capsules. I would definitely recomend doing the fogs. It really brings the look together... Although I am a bit **** and mose probably dont notice.

BTW n3985, maybe you should try doing your fogs first. Then you will see how easy it really is. It would give you some practice so you feel better about doing the headlights.

i've been thinking about doing mine, but i've got 2 strikes against me...dark green car...fogs & sidemarkers. i'd have to paint all 6 lights, and i'm not sure how it would look in the end anyhow.

Im actually on vacation in Vegas right now and dont have access to my pictures. Ill have to post some in a couple of days.

It is very subtle, but helps bring the frontend together with everything matching.

I know there are some pics floating around here on the org, so if I find one Ill let you know.

If you take the time to re-heat the lamps after putting them back together you will not have any problems with condensation. I have never used any extra sealant or silicone either. I've taken apart five sets of lamps and never had a problem.
