So I'm looking for some yellow H3s, any suggestions?

I'm tempted on the Hella H3 yellows on ebay. I know that's not the consensus site to rely on, but it has worked fairly well for me. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=33709
Are those bright yellows? Any suggestions/opinions on better bulbs, deals, or a good site to go to for h3s?

I used to believe in PIAAs like many others do, but I lost faith soon after all my PIAA bulbs burned out faster than I could realize it. I turned to Hella after that, and found their bulbs to be very reliable even at high wattages up to 125w. I currently have a pair of Hella 125w super white H3's that I've been using for 2 years. The PIAA's lasted me about 4 months or less and they were only 85w. Never buy another PIAA again.

I was considering PIAAs, but they're way too expensive. I don't want to buy 45-50 dollar bulbs and have them burn out a year later. My friend had yellow piaa H3s, and a bulb burned a year later. Now that's probably a longer life than knock off fogs, but that's still 50 bucks a year just on fogs.

As for why I want yellows, it's because I don't have HIDs, and I think having whites will contrast with the headlights too much. For sure i'd get super white fogs if i had hids, but i don't, and yellow looks great. I had yellow knockoffs from ebay, but they burned a week later, my luck.

My question still is, the link i provided, are Hella 85w yellow actually bright yellows? I don't want anything that looks like my stock fogs.

From what I know, there're two types of yellow fogs from Hella. First one is YellowStar which is the one that I used before and these give off nice bright yellow light very similar to the old QX4's stock fogs but not as yellow and are brighter. Second one i've seen is the IonicYellow. I've never used these but I've seen them and they give off some hint of blue/green that I don't like. From the close-up pix found in that link you provided, they look like IonicYellow. I know because YellowStar would've been printed on the box's label.

Why would he want yellow? 4000k is crap in bad weather(fog.rain,snow). The purpose of "fog lights". Its a simple question of function over cosmetics. Personaly it looks classy with yellow fogs. Most european cars have yellow fogs. Be carefull w/ high wattage bulbs. They can brown your housings.

just make sure your fog wiring isnt melting from nearly doubling the wattage.
