My dad picked up a new I35 last week, looks really nice. Got every option (cold weather, premium, navi) for $30,xxx sweet deal.

To the people with navi, do you have to keep the CD in all the time for it to work? The dealer is getting the CD in next week and its annoying to only be able to load cds into the trunk.

Do all the new radios have the display that tells you what song is playing, or is that only with the navi? It sucks that a lot of stations don't give the information (band, song)

Now to the important part, performance. I can feel that extra torque this car has compared to my I30. Off the line I like it better. But I was disappointed with the highway performance. I honestly felt that my car with the y-pipe and intake could easily take it on a highway run.

I don't know about everyone else, but I feel that the A33 I30 owners got the short end of the stick. These cars are faster, have more options, and they are cheaper. Its rediculous

It just goes to show you how competive the entry level luxury segment has become. Some things like the steering wheel mounted stereo controls and heated rear seats are options that I really wish I had in my I30, plus the CD changer load time is suppose to be faster in the I35.

I went back to school yesterday, and will be here till Friday. I have my spring break so I will take pics when I return. Its Diamond Graphite with dark interior. They also added the side sills and my father also wanted pinstripes added.

If anyone knows about the navigation please give me some information. This is the first car we've had with one.

Oh yeah, is there like a mod to convert the navi into a DVD player?

You have to have a navigation disc in the dash to use NAVI. It's pretty useless though. CD based and outdated maps <sigh>. You also have to use the trunk mounted CD changer.

And, provided you use a wiring diagram, some other associated hardware, and one of the web-based how-to's online, you can use the screen to play video from a source, such as an XBOX, PS2, or DVD player, but you can't make the nav unit (which is CD based) play DVDs.

With similar options, the I35 was about 5 grand cheaper, and its an overall bigger car; Bigger trunk, more roomy back seat. He was looking at the G35x because Brooklyn doesn't exactly have the nicest weather during the winter time. He had a '01 I30 before that he leased and I guess he was used to it. I personally would pick the G35.

The G35 is too small! It is fun to drive though. Id get the coupe, but only as a second car.

I do love RWD. Took an onramp and gunned it... Brought the rear-end right around. I couldent drive one every day. I love my space too much.
