Speed Limiter Removal?

I just bought a 2000 I30T which has the V speed rated tires (149mph). I've only had her for about two weeks and just had the opportunity to see what she gots since I had to have an oxygen sensor replaced because the SES came on like a day after I got the car. After replacing the sensor I had all the lost power back so I took her out for a run and hit the limiter at 130mph, to say I was disappointed was is an understatement. I know it was a limiter because it kicked down the rpm's just like the limiter would on my 96 Maxima (at 112mph) and on my 02 Altima 2.5S (at 115-118mph). I know for the Altima I can get a dealer to remove it once I get higher speed rated tires, so I called the Infiniti dealership to see if they would do the same thing and they said no. Anyone, no of a way or anyone who can remove the limiter without hacking up the ECU (in the max I just cut the wire to the ecu that limited the speed). Also, what is the top speed on the 2000-2001 I30?

Your post was pointless. There is nothing funny about what you quoted. If you don't have anything informative to offer then don't reply to the post.

Just pointing out that you answered your own question.

Bee, I still don't know what you are talking about, so I guess I must be slow (I really need to get off this midnight shift, it messes with your mind). Anyway, for anyone who does want to know the answer to my question regarding the speed limiter removal, if you have one, it is to get the Apexi RSM. The Apexi RSM will remove the speed limiter by default once hooked up and also features some the neat stuff that the GTech Pro does. I haven't found it for cheaper than $230 on the web but I found a post where someone said they bought one for $150. Found the answer in the search tool, when I posted this I wasn't having much luck getting the search tool to work properly (kept timing out).

a lot of people cut the speed limiter wire, and place a switch on it because it will give you a check engine light. I don't know about the RSM removing the speed limiter.

Anyways, I had the Apexi RSM (second gen blue LED) installed in my car before...I took it out a few months ago. I never tried hooking up the speed limiter or rev limiter on the my I30. Now it's for sale if you want to play with it.

Subscribed! I want to remove my limiter too so I can put my Z rated tires to work and commute at a cruising speed of 180mph.
