I would like to have a kit released by next Spring. But it's tough for me to establish an accurate time frame right now when the prototype hasn't been designed yet.

The Engine Torque Link we currently have out now went through a ton of design changes as we were testing. I don't know what obstacles I'll run into with the 6th gen Maxima.

Well aaron I think I will be purchasing this item soon from you. I was going to purchase the IM spacer kit but this is less money and with the spacer kit I would also have to buy spark plugs, and since the manifold is off I would also have to adjust the valves. I am going to wait on that though.

I already have your first design of the block off plate for the IM. Maybe in a few months I can get the IM spacer kit also.

While I get this engine brace I was thinking about replacing the passenger motor mount and transmission mount just so I have all brand new mounts.

What valves are you talking about? Why would you need to adjust the valve lash? That has nothing to do with the intake manfiold or spark plugs. But, you're right, if you are going to remove the intake manifold, I would strongly recommend you go ahead and replace the plugs if they are getting old.

I thought my valves were ticking but it turns out to have been a fuel pressure regulator went bad and got that replaced under warranty.

Note I am only using 3 or 4 mounting bolts because while taking off my old rusted bolts one of them snapped. I will drill it out later. I strongly suggest letting those 4 bolts soak in wd40 or some penetrating lube for a night.
On the other hand, install was very straight forward. I was amazed how effectively I was able to pull or push the motor back by tightening or loosening the tension. I just put a little bit of tension one it (pushing the motor back a little bit) and left it like that. This product plus traction bars and some nice slicks should be a nice setup.

Hey what mount are u using there??? Looks tough!! I need to change mine.

It appears to be a stock 4th gen Maxima engine mount.

Aaron any chance you will make a dual version of these? I have an idea for another area you can put these, but obv I don't have the mfg necessitates as you do. I think this location may work and might be slightly better for the whole engine not just the side.

This kit works extremely well if your motor mounts are in decent shape. But if you have broken engine mounts with rubber that is torn, that area of the engine will still move a little with the front of it being locked down with our Torque Link. I always recommend good motor mounts. But with bad engine mounts, this torque link will lock down the engine and you will still see drastic gains and improvement in shift feel and wheel hop. We chose this location to simplify the installation procedure and to make it incredibly easy to connect and disconnect.

As of right now, we don't have any plans to develop another Torque Link kit for the 4th gen Maxima. This kit has been thoroughly tested. You will not be disappointed. If you or any other customer is, I will refund your money including shipping costs.

I would so get one, if we could work out a deal. $160 is just a little bit out of my budget. I have brand new mounts too. I wouldn't mind too keep those living longer.

Is there anyway to extend the length of the bar between the motor mount and the mounting plate? Maybe run it over the supercharger and mount it to the frame rail? I haven't seen my engine bay for awhile due to the engine build taking forever but I am thinking that would work for supercharged applications. If I am wrong, then I am wrong but I would like to find a way for this to work.

I don't see a way to make this design work without completely redesigning the brackets and the mounting locations. But I have not tested this kit on a S/C'd VQ yet to confirm it.

I can gurantee that there is no way this particular kit will ever work on a SCed application. However it is possible to make a similar kit for a SCed app. utelizing different mounting points to the frame but same on mount.

Well, I wanted to give my .02 cents on this product. Just received it yesterday and installed yesterday. Thanks Aaron for the speedy shipping!

To start off:

Installation:

Simple since I applied WD-40 to all the necessary bolts several times before I actually got the ETL. The only bolt that gave me some issue during the installation was the one in the middle bracket that is not used before the ETL goes on. It is right under the lower head of the coupler and was a tight squeeze to tighten but no biggie.

Review:

When I first turned on the car I heard a different tone in the car, not sure if it is me and anybody else has had this but the different tone was a good change. I might be hearing things but just wondering if anybody else had this same outcome...

The ride was enhanced in every way possible, I had a big smile on my face after the trip. I noticed less vibration when at a light and driving around, the turns were easier to drive, the shifts smoother, hardly any wheel hop from an aggressive take off, better control of the car on highway lane changes and all this combined made the ride more enjoyable. Like somebody else said this is the way the car should have come from the factory and I really think this will make a huge difference in track times!! I can't wait to see that difference!

Once again, Aaron has created a well manufactured, high quality product to make our cars better.

I recommend it 100%!!

Well worth it!!

-Jesse

Just wanted to show a few pics of my ETL:

A different tone? Um... OK. Very skeptical about that, but let's see what Aaron says.

Otherwise, I'm encouraged to read your first impressions. And your tip about prepping for the install with WD-40 for a few days beforehand... great idea, Jesse.

And of course, your bay looks awesome. Polished intake... nice touch.

Yea, I would like to hear if Aaron ever came across this different tone too. Just wondering...

I think I sprayed the bolts with WD-40 like 2 times and they came out easy.

Thanks, I try to keep a clean bay.

Thank you for the review. I'm glad you are loving your Engine Torque Link.

There shouldn't be a change in the intake tone of the engine since all this kit does is brace the engine. I've never noticed a change in the intake or exhaust note in any engine I've locked down. But you will be much more 'in tuned' with your engine since you should feel a little more vibrations in the steering wheel. Your shifts (AT or MT) will be the best you've ever felt in your Maxima and throttle response and feel will be improved as well as traction.

Well just wanted to reiterate my likeness of this product. Two months after installation it feels just as great as the first day. I still wonder why the car did not come stock like this.

I can't express words how much this makes driving so much more enjoyable by being more "in tuned" as Aaron stated. This should be on the top of the list of everybody's to mod list. Stocking stuffer, maybe...

Thanks again Aaron for an awesome product!

I love reading stuff like this!

Morpheus, I'm going to tap you on the shoulder for a follow-up opinion next Spring. You're keeping it on your car 100% of the time, all winter, right?

Here's another question: have you adjusted the tension in the last few months?

Thanks, I am keeping it on the car all the time, can't see myself driving with out it anymore. It's that good!

In the past I did loosen and tighten it just to see the difference and there is a certain tightness that it just right. When I loosened it a certain amount, I felt the difference of being less in 'tune' with the car...
