ive seen the injen intake for the 2002 model for 270?? what gives
What kind of filter did they have? The AMSOIL Ea Air Filter is good for 4 years, just need to refresh it by hitting it with compressed air stream (oil-less).
I dynoed a stock replacement Ea Nanofiber Air Filter today on my 1998.5 Ford SVT Contour 2.5L V6 daily driver, and realized 6 peak hp, and 8 ft-lbs of tq in the lower end! That is without changing to aftermarket piping... I'll post up my dyno shortly.
I want to explain to you the benefit of the Ea Nanofiber Air Filters. As I mentioned in the last post, I ran 2 dyno runs with the OEM Paper Air Filter, and then swapped in the AMSOIL Ea Nanofiber filter (NO PIPING, just put it back in the stock box). I was expecting a loss of horsepower and torque, thinking that the more tightly woven nanofibers would restrict air flow. This however is completely counter intuitive. I actually gained 6hp at peak rpm of 6200, and also more notably at 3500rpm I realized 8 ft-lbs of torque! Just by changing my STOCK REPLACEMENT FILTER... When you combine that with a freer flowing intake like the INJEN tubing system, this would only be expected to improve further!

I can sell you the filter and test it out, if there isn't a noticeable difference you can send it back and I'll refund you the money. Otherwise, I'd need to find some locals to test this out to get the dyno #'s unless you want to prove it.
I can sell you a replacement filter for your setup then. It surely is worth the added filtration protection for the motor, and any added HP/TQ would be a bonus.
How much for a Amsoil air filter? A cone one to put on my CAI. Zip is 01002. Thanks.
PM sent. The filters go for $42.00 + s.h.
They are good for 4 years or 100k miles and are easy to clean with compressed air, forget about oiling your filter and needing to clean your MAF forever!
I have the Injen RD Series (polished) Intake. Id be willing to swap out the Injen filter for 1 of these! But right now Im looking at a Dragon Filter so its a toss up!
I dont need one, but since people here have doubts about this filter i'd be willing to get one, and give it a shot.
On it's way.
