Tired of missing gears, and a sloppy shift? After a HUGE success with the B15 Spec V platform, I figured I'd extend the offer to you guys as well. You all have the same exact 6spd trans/cables as the Spec V, and these bushings, machined from a material called Nylatron, are the perfect fix for your worn out stockers. Harder than urethane (currently offered for the 02/03 maxima), these provide crisp, sure shifting, without any give. Nylatron is basically a reinforced (glass fibers), self lubricating (molybdenum powder) nylon material. It NEVER has to be greased, as it provides it's own lubrication, and the wear life is almost infinite in this application. It is commonly used offshore in 150+ ton cranes, for load bearing pads, bushings, etc. It is the perfect material for any sort of bushing, and will not tear, crack or crush.
While it is a superior material, it is slightly more expensive to manufacture than a urethane bushing, simply because machine work is required to produce the exact tollerances. Whereas, urethene is simply poured into a mold, and allowed to set.. No machining required per individual part. These bushings are tapered, to allow precise fit, with no slippage, and the center hole is machined to perfect fit on the stud.
Price will be 29.95, per set, which includes 3 bushings, plus 5.50 for packaging and shipping. If using paypal, please add 1.06 to cover the Paypal fee. Total is 36.51 If sending a money order, this wouldn't apply and the total would be 1.06 less. (paypal address is Trav4011@hotmail.com)
PLEASE INCLUDE YOUR NAME SCREEN NAME AND THE YEAR OF YOUR MAXIMA WITH YOUR PAYMENT! FAILURE TO DO SO WILL DELAY SHIPPING, AND YOU MAY RECIEVE THE WRONG PARTS
I have sold over 50 sets of these bushings to the Spec V guys, and have recieved nothing but outstanding feedback..

Installed tonight. First drive was great. Night and Day. I have had my spec for about a year now (its an 03) and it has been plagued with sloppy shift feel since day one. When I first got it I would sometimes have trouble getting from 4th to 5th. This was a ***** on the freeway. Its amazing what a little bushing can do. When I got the old ones out the two by the tranny were in ****TY condition. Thanks Travis for a great product. I would advise ya'll jump on this while you can.

Installed mine a few days ago. As everyone else said the bushing on the inside of the car was a breeze. The top tranny bushing was also a breeze as it was well worn down (being an 02')
The usual trouble I had was with the bottom tranny bushing. It's in an odd position and hard to get to, but eventually I got it out. Using plyers/screwdrivers helps.
The initial feeling is a BIG difference. The shifts are crisp and much smoother. WELL worth the money.
Thanks to Travis for making parts like this possible for an overall unknown/untouched platform.
If your thinking about buying these, GET THEM!

Just got the bushings in last night and they didn't spend a moment more in that envelope. Installation was a breeze. Most of the bushings pushed out with ease because they were so worn down. The upper tranny bushing was completely shot and was in pieces when i pushed it out. I took the car out for a spin and it feels significantly different, but better. Shifts are confident, crisp and deliberate. There's no longer a squishy feeling when trying to get into a gear. Once it's in gear, you know it. This, I know, will cut down on a lot of mis-shifts. Its a good product and suggest that people get them while you're still making them. Thanks.
The minimum is 25 sets for this GD, as these are made in bulk. I will go 50 sets, max.. Bushings will be ready to ship within 1 week of the GD closing. I'll leave it open until we finish filling the spots, and then, I'll ask for payment. Please, do NOT send payment until you are asked to do so. Thanks!
After installation, check the shifter for smooth operation through all 6 forward gears, plus, reverse. Reinspect the linkages, and verify proper fit/installation before driving the vehicle!
Surprised there isn't more interest in these.. ? This isn't "snake oil" guys.. it's probably one of the best "cheap" mods that you can do for your 6spd Max.
Hey Travis put me down for a set. I understand how it is to be a small business man. saw your post the other day now im interested as i finally saw that my bushings are shot to hell.

I promise, you won't be disappointed with these. I have sold over 75 sets to the Sentra guys, and have YET to hear anyone say that they regretted the purchase!
BTW, don't worry if we can't hit the number on the list.. You'll still get your bushings.. I'll just piggyback your bushings in with the Sentra guys, so the machine shop will give me the same rate.
word man thats awesome..i def. want these im goin to be doing the twm shifter in mine and i want to do it all at once...send me a pm..im heading to iowa for a week for work..so ill check this less frequently but def. get you the money....thanks travis

It would also be great if you post a 5.5 installation instruction if it is any different than a 6th gen.
Thanks.
Travis, In the above post, I said put me in for a set, yet I'm not on the list. Please add me to the list.
I also have a question. Both the rubber and the poly gives some cushion to the shifting. Nylatron is pretty hard since it can even be used for gears. Does shifting actually feel too solid with no give after installing the bushings??

Sorry, I missed your post.. I'll add you..
I find that it makes the shift more "confident", and it takes less effort to do so. Most RWD transmissions are straight up as well. There's no rubber bushing to cushion the shift, so, you get a "click" as it goes into the next gear, instead of a mushy "clunk", where it's kinda getting sucked into gear. It's hard to describe the difference.. But, it's like night and day. I love the way that it feels. Before, I would miss gears, and grind occasionally.. but, with these, you just flick your wrist, and it pops into gear. All of the reviews over on the Sentra boards seem to be in agreement.
Would you like a set to test out, and maybe give these guys your feedback? If so, shoot me your address, and I'll send out a set, free of charge. If you like them, then, just pay me when the time comes for the group buy. Just do me a favor and drop some install pics/feedback on this page, if you do like them. If not, feel free to send them back, and I'll even cover your shipping.

Travis,
I'd be happy to take a set to test out and comment on. I'm a old car guy so I should have no problem, but I'm new to the Max so I will be able to give a good account of what I would think it would take for most to do this install. And I've driven many different cars (Stock and Race) with both FWD and RWD using rod and cable shifters.
To be honest the Max has one of the notchiest feelings I've ever dealt with and the throw of an old F150. But I still like the car.
I'll take pictures and if I can't figure out how to post them will send them to you to post.
The bad news is that I will have to wait until we get a nice day to do it. My garage is pretty packed and it's hard to work on the car (especially the inside) in the garage. Weather in Jersey has been crappy lately so it might take a while to get a good weekend.
If you are okay with this let me know and I will PM you with my address.
The 02-06 Altima shifter-linkage is basically the same with the exception of the 02-06 Maxima having the reverse lock-out which is more of the shifter shaft and not linkage. I'll try these out first hand to make sure they fit and then pass the word onto the Altima guys. I'm sure there's a few of 'em on there that would like these.

count me in for a set... I currently have the ES bushings but will gladly replace them. To the OP please put me on the list for a set of these bushings.
