One is fully machined out of a solid piece of 6061 billet aluminum with the NWP logo in raised lettering. This one is $60.00 plus shipping. The quality doesn't get any better than this.

The one that we are offering for sale is machined from a 1/4" sheet of 6061 billet aluminum and the logo is engraved instead of raised. It is then deburred and tumbled to reduce the appearance of machining lines.

Here is a comparison:

Raised logo and fully machined with no machining lines:

Aaron, what will this do for gas mileage and where will I see the improvement at??? Very interested. Also you said:

So in reality the only difference is raised lettering vs. engraved correct? Same material, same deburring and tumbled on both pieces right? Sorry for all the questions.

You want stickers? I'm always happy to send out free stickers for anybody who wants them. All you have to do is send an email to [aaron@nwpengineering.com] with your name and address and I'll send out a pair.

The change in gas mileage has not been really noted. I would say the change in mileage, if any, is so small that it's tough to prove. But you will lose low end power and gain back plenty of top end power. Some do not notice the loss in low end, especially with a manual transmission.

The biggest difference between the two plates is one has a raised logo and one has an engraved logo. But, the reason the quality of the raised logo plate is so much better is that it is fully machined out of a large block of aluminum. It is machined on all sides, front, and back. The tolerances do not get any better than this. Then it's tumbled and polished by hand.

With the engraved plate, it is simply cut from 1/4" sheet stock. So it is not machined on the front and back to give it a perfect surface. It's plenty flat enough for it to seal on the manifold with a gasket. But you can see the horizontal lines in the material itself. That is because of the extrusion process when they make the raw sheets. You can see these lines in the picture, which I think, don't look bad at all. Especially after it's tumbled and cleaned up by hand.

Hey thanks for the info Aaron, but I got some more. With me having an automatic, would my mileage increase or decrese with just the plate and would it increase or decrease with the plate and the intake kit combined? Both VIAS plates seal the same correct? I mean the dimensions are identical right?? I don't mind the horizontal lines, I mean it is under the plastic engine cover.

I apologize for the late reply.

But we have not done any gas mileage testing on just the VIAS Removal. You will lose low end power and gain back plenty of top end power. But the best thing to do is the SSIM. I can't comment on gas mileage changes.

As far as I know, you should not see any noticeable change in gas mileage with the VIAS Removal or SSIM.

And yes, the dimensions are exactly the same. Both plates are perfectly matched to the upper intake manifold and will look VERY clean once installed. One is fully machined with raised lettering and one is cut from 1/4" aluminum with engraved lettering. Same tolerances and same exact dimensions.

Just ordered mine. Decided to go with the raised lettering. May be under the engine cover but if you don't go big, don't go at all right? I'll let you know once I receive it and have pics posted as well hopefully. I plan on putting the intake kit on July 5th so hopefully I can do all of it together.
