Concerning your transmission, Manuals do not need to be flushed and they take 5 quarts of GL-4 gear oil. Automatics can be serviced either by draining and refilling or by doing a complete flush. I generally recommend folks have 6 quarts of ATF on hand to do a drain/refill, and a case (12 qts) for a complete flush. Any left-over fluid can be used in your power steering system...the synthetic ATF also works great in there.
