Here are the screen pics when it is playing a MP3 disc. I haven't verified if it will play MP3's on a DVD-R but I'm 99% sure. Let me ask somebody.

It is single DIN sized but it isn't really designed to be used as a stand alone headunit.

One person is in the middle of it, I don't know how it has gone for him yet. He will post up here on the boards once it is done. It will require that you use an aftermarket deck.

Sorry, this thread is getting to long, I'll close it and start a new one that's easier to read though.

Anyhow, the screen is $175 shipped. The DVD player $115 shipped. If you are buying both of them at the same time then you get a $15 discount on the combo.

So $175 + $115 = $290 - $15 discount =

$275 shipped total for the screen + DVD player

So I have an install question that wasn't quite answered in all the how2's i've read.

1) For the Microvision DVD power, there are one red, one yellow and one black wire. One is a 12V+ Power, one says 12V+ memory plus, one says ground.

My question is where to wire the 12v+ and 12V+Memory wires? I am thinking that maybe the Memory 12V+ has to be wired to some always on source. Is this true? IF so, what is this always on source? Also, I was just going to attach my 12V+ power cord to my cigarette lighter. I am right in thinking the two 12+ wires have to be wired to different sources?

thanks.

Here's what the wiring is:

Black - ground to chassis
Red - switched power (this can go to the cigarette lighter)
yellow - constant power (this will go directly to your battery w/ a fuse), or find another constant power source, the harness on your stereo has one.

Do you have a pic of that switch you emailed me about?

Cool, thanks! I'll see if I can get a picture of it when I get my camera back.

Do you happen to know which wire on the stereo harness is the constant power source?

thanks.

so we can just tap into that and would be fine? no overload etc?

or would it be easier/safer and/or easier to attach a longer wire and attach to the battery itself?

Hey cobymoby

I am wondering if you have a microvision screen on hand ready for shipping once payment is received? If I paypal you the money tommorow how soon will the screen ship?

also I'm not sure if this has been asked or if my eyes are getting old but the dvd player isnt an indash dvd player right? its more of a portable dvd player to be mounted in the car? looking for a new Hu to play the dvds on and cds.

thanks if the dvd play is just a dvd player then I'd like to get a microvision screen, but if it can fit in the dash then I'd like to get both.

thanks

Screens and DVD players are all in stock. Screens and DVD's are shipped the same day if recieved before 12PM PST. If it is an Echeck payment, then it will have to wait for the e-check to clear first. This takes usually 3-4 days but sometimes longer.

The DVD player is designed for car use, it only has a 12V power supply. The DVD player is roughly DIN sized, you should be able to ISO mount it in the pocket that is on the 95-99 dash, below the radio. But I haven't verified this myself.

FYI - If you purchase the screen and DVD together then you get a $15 discount. So they are $275 Shipped, instead of $290.

Regards,
Bryan

He's right. It does fit good into the pocket. I installed my screen and DVD already but haven't had the time or internet access to post pics. (i'm typing this at work right now). I'll try to get pics up ASAP.

Yeah i went over to this audio shop in Costa Mesa someone from the org recommended. They did a good job, didnt even try to upsell me on things!
I do have to go back so they can fix a grounding problem... I hear the highpitch whining noise... as soon as i get a hold of a dig camera i'll post them!

Was I the one that recommended it to you? I remember recommending a shop to someone, I forgot the name though? If it was did you like it?? I hope you had a good experience, I wouldn't want you coming back and telling me they did a ****ty job or something..

hahah yeah it was the shop you recommended and Oscar was chill.
Only thing wrong is the ground problem... I was on the freeway this morning listening to music and when I went to pass a semi there was so much crackle noise as I accelerated.

Again, thanks to Bryan for the deal!

can you install both the flip down and the in-dash together? is there any further discount if both were purchased? also, the flip down is installed in the back dome light, right?
