I swear some people drive me crazy...

1) The price is $800... there is no changing or lowering it. If that doesn't fall under you "right price" idea than don't post "if the price is right"... it's $800 firm!

2) The beam pattern is not from Mad-Max_SE, but soulrupture. Mad-Max did not get his lights from this source therefore showing his beam pattern is like being told the horsepower of a Navigator if you're buying a Cavalier... they're 2 different things.

LOW:

HIGH:

Please read the whole thread before you post... You're either asking questions about things that are already answered... or you're posting pointless comments like "if the price is right". The price is $800, FIRM!

High beams are not a "bye bye". If you read the thread you would see I asked if the high beams were a necessity to geo1317. These lights are bi-xenon lights. High and low beams are controlled by the solenoid inside the projector housing.

and this tread. Just need to take the time to read all the posts before posting! Stringztoo is right on the money with what he is telling everyone. Like I said before I hope everything works out, but there always a way around things, like doing it yourself.
It's a lot of work, and I mean a lot, don't kid yourselves, but it can be a DIY and will give an enormance amount of satifaction.
There is a link on the bottom of hidtech.com FAQ/INFO page on how to do one yourself, everything is there waiting for you just take the info and do what you need to do.
Best of luck to everyone with this mod, and remember this is NOT A COSMETIC MOD! IT IS A PERFORMENCE LIGHTING MOD!.
Like a big brake upgrade, or getting aftermarket struts/shocks, springs is all about performence and safety.
Peace

That's perfectly fine, i pm'd you back about it just a couple minutes ago. i'll see if i can take a couple more pics this week, but i don't think mine are what you should be worried about. Like String said, Soulrupture's lights are alot better idea of what you'll be getting, than mine, because he has LHD projectors on both sides, whereas i have RHD ones on the left and LHD on the right...damn you Indigo...

BTW - Soul, i think these would be classified as a safety feature too

Im only in it for the projectors now, if they can be retrofitted with 9004. I've got a set of bulbs/ballasts coming.

It'll been stalled (translated as "dead") for almost a month. Go with HIDtech.com and pay the 8 bill$ if you want someone to do it... the price will never be any lower than that.

as much as i hate to say it, i totally agree. I had a talk with HIDtech and there is so much put into these headlights, there's really no room for a discount, atleast not the type of discount we would hope for. If you want better lighting, go directly.

Moderators, please lock thread so people dont get there hopes up

i think i saw someone have these done about 3 months ago and he was trying to sell them. He has a gold maxima but i dont remember who it was. Anyway, i dont know why you guys are all into paying 800 for this crap, anyone can make these themselves, its not as difficult as looks. As stated above the charge 500 for labor alone so thats money in ur pocket. Personally i know i can do this myself.

Yes, I am definitely interested in a full set. umnitiza or HIDTech, whoever comes through first. Depending on what the final cost is, I may or may not arrange to source my own headlamp housings and HID bulbs/ballast-- whatever is the most efficient and saves me the most money. If it's only going to save $25-50 for sourcing my own HIDs separately then I might as well have HIDTech supply them and save myself the time, if I can save $100 by getting only the projector conversion done by them then I will...

Either way, I am definitely interested in a set and my deposit is still ready once we have some real indicator on prices...

If i see pics i'd be interested. It's not fun driving when you can see only 2 feet in front of you. So +1 for me

+1 for kingrukus as well, he's just as ****ed as me. Depends on the price. I would not want to spend too much for headlights for my Max so depending on price.

Problems with Solenoid controlled highbeams

I noticed that HIDTech states that a solenoid is used to control the hi/low beam function. Well, I had installed the same kind of "3rd generation" HID system on a Miata and found the results to be disappointing. The solenoid did not move much, so you could barely tell the difference between low and "high" beams. Also, after a year of use, the solenoid began to stick in one headlight (would not reset to low, unless the lights were turned completely off).

So, I'm curious to know if HIDTech has addressed the solenoid issue with this HID system.

There is no solenoid issue with good quality bi-xenon projectors (which is what they use). This is totally different from the crappy moveable shield that was on your HID kit. They retrofit a bi-xenon projector (usually hella) into your stock housing.

I'm not digging that silver mesh looking surround for some reason... Other than that, hidretro does some good work.

are e55 bi-xenons much bigger than s2000 bi-xenons?

The projectors from an s2000 are low beam only, they use a halogen high beam... and yeah, the e55's are much bigger.

Cefiros may be a little bit more difficult for retrofit because it is one peice and it is long and for it has to be opened and fitted etc.

but i know a guy that can do it really well and his site is www.hidretro.com or you can email him at webmaster@hidretro.com and tell him that i referred you.
