Car starters/alarms installed in MA CHEAP

Hey guys---I had a car starter installed in my 96 I30 today. I heard they were a pain with the factory alarm--but that wasn't true. The guy came to my house (in 20 degree weather) and did it while I waited. He was done in an hour, and it came out PERFECT! Everything but the window rolldown is on the new remote---even remote trunk! He charged me 200.
If any of you are in MA and want a starter/or alarm I HIGHLY reccomend this guy. He will come right to your house and do it there. I met hiim through my DSM car club as he does everyones 12V work. He can do all years max/infiniti and 5 speeds as well!

If any of you need his info--email me off list.

Mark

"They" is just a friend of mine who does this out of his truck to save on overhead. He has all the certs and what not. He is working as an electrician and still does 12v stuff on the side for our dsm club. I live on the MA/RI border--but that is as far as he goes. He will meet you in a lot somwhere though and do it quick. He is VERY good.

LEGALLY you can't install them on manual transmission cars for obvious reasons. However, my guy just unplugs the clutch safety switch and you don't need to hold the clutch to start the car---and the remote starter will work. You can't leave your car in gear and start it, or it will jump out and might hit someone/something. If you think you might leave it in gear he can put a switch on the parking brake so that the starter will only work when the e-brake is all the way up. He can also put a sensor on the shifter so that it will only start in neutral. Those options are more $ though. I have had the remote start on my talon/manual trans car for a year with no safety switches--and had no trouble.
Just need to be smart about it and always use your e-brake and leave the car out of gear.

email me privately for his info--I don't want to post it here. He gets a LOT of email and is very busy doing starter installs this time of year.
